Maison de charme si vous etes un hobbit
Excuse l'anglais, mais mon francais n'est pas suffisant pour une appreciation.
The owner was lovely and very communicative, and I'm sure the family has fab holidays here. Abries is lovely and we're sure to return. But not to this house.
My husband and I are 180cm tall+. After a day, we realised that the house was not for us. Too many low ceilings meant that practically every turn resulted in a bumped head. By the middle of week 1 we talked to the Tourist Info about finding another house, we had bumped our heads so many times. This time of year though they had nothing for us. One bump is funny, but a week of it had me in tears I'm afraid. For example - there are 3 toilets in the property. You can stand up off the loo to pull up your pants in just one of them.
By week 2 we were trying to spend as many nights away as possible. We stayed an extra night in a refuge. We booked hotel rooms on our way back to Nice to get away early.
Really, this height restriction should have been made clear in the description and we are disappointed with the owner for leaving this out. Had we known we would never have rented it.
Our last night in the bedroom of the studio stank so much of sewers that me and my daughter had to sleep somewhere else in the house. My husband had a look at the problem, and some of the building work on the plumbing and waste had not been done correctly, letting fumes escape into the bedroom.
Parking is also really not simple near the property. Don't expect to be parked right outside. The closest we managed was by the church, 250m away, and on market days and entertainment days it was even harder.
I'm sorry, Servane, to leave a terrible review, but this has got to be the worst property we have ever rented. We'll be going for modern modern modern next time we rent.
