Ashton Retreat is an opportunity to get away and relax in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. The Retreat is a modern self-contained unit with kitchen/dining and lounge areas, with separate bathroom & bedroom with comfy Queen bed. Just outside is a private patio situated under a beautiful Linden tree overlooking our 15 acre property. Close to Cleland, Morialta and Horsnell Gully Conservation Parks with their many walks, and the Heysen Trail passes the property. The perfect location for the Tour Downunder and a great escape from the City Festivals of Mad March. Local wineries are easily accessible - its a short drive to the Barossa and Eden Valleys to the north, and McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula to the south. Just 20 minutes to the city centre. The Ashton Retreat suits couples looking to take a break for a weekend or longer, or singles and couples looking to base themselves close to the City or Hills for longer stays to catch up with friends and family, attend conferences, play golf, or use it as a base to explore the region. Guests receive complimentary tea, coffee, milk, sugar, fruit and flowers and all linen is supplied. Free wi-fi is also available.
The kitchen features an electric oven, gas cooktop with rangehood, microwave, refrigerator and plenty of bench space for food preparation. The area is heated by a petite combustion heater which will quickly heat the area in the depths of winter. Welcoming comfy lounge chairs await with LCD TV and DVD player available. The queen size bed offers a private valley view, and the bathroom features a shower, wash basin and toilet. Outside in the sheltered garden, enjoy an al fresco setting with lovely views. The Retreat has a minimal environmental footprint - rainwater is harvested on the property, wastewater is treated on the property, a recycling facility is available and a roof mounted solar array feeds energy into the grid. Minimum stay 2 nights. No pets or children (non-walking babies excepted).
Summer in the Hills
In summer, the Adelaide Hills are always a few degrees cooler than the city - enjoy all the benefits of being close to the centre of the city while experiencing the quiet rural setting of the Ashton Retreat. Explore the Hills and beyond - Clare, the Barossa and McLaren Vale are all within a comfortable one days driving distance. For nature lovers, the Retreat offers many regular and irregular visitors - kangaroos, koalas, echidnas and microbats feeding at sunset - as well as a huge range of native birds in habitating the space - from weebills flitting about in the shrubs to eagles gliding overhead.
