About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Beeberry Cottage

Beeberry Cottage is a homey little off-grid log cabin set in the woods of our 100 acre working farm. Spend your time wandering miles of serene wooded trails, feeding the horses, and fishing off the dock.

The cabin is 8 X 12 feet and has an attached 10 X 12 foot covered gazebo for your outdoor enjoyment. It is quite a small and cozy space. There is a tiny wood stove inside for use during colder months to heat the cottage.

The toilet is an outhouse, still a common feature on farms in this area.

For summer cooking, you may prefer to use the BBQ. You can also use the fire bowl for cooking, heating water, and enjoyment. Please use the spark guard when using the fire bowl and do not burn if there is a burn ban in effect (we will give you that information if the Township announces it) Please pay careful attention to details about fire safety before using any of the features.

Water is available via jugs which are refillable at any of the farm water fountains. It is cold, clear, fresh water from our well. The taste can be somewhat mineral for people who are unaccustomed to well water.

Guests can wander the whole farm, use the pond and visit all of the animals. Please ask us to show you how to safely interact with the animals and to show you the electric fence :).

Guests are welcome to visit our tiny farm gate store. We sell eggs, dairy, meat, seasonal vegetables, soaps, honey, syrup, and jams among other items. If we haven't got what you need, we can probably send you right up the road to another farm that has. Thank you for buying from and supporting small farms!

Please consider carefully before booking to make sure a farmstay is right for you. Farmstays are not hotels. The cottage is TINY. There is NO ELECTRICITY and NO RUNNING WATER inside. The toilet is in an OUTHOUSE. The rural location guarantees there will be INSECTS and OTHER WILDLIFE around and possibly indoors if you leave the doors open. There are SOUNDS of wildlife, domestic animals, and other farm noises. We keep BEES and their hives are a few hundred feet from the cottage. The access to the cottage is driving up a GRASS LANEWAY. The cottage is in the FOREST. The BBQ and firepit are located outdoors and may have DUST, POLLEN, or DIRT on them.

Our Favourite Getway
Our perfect getaway! We were looking for something off grid but close to home. Somewhere we could disconnect from our phones (and running water) but not have to set up a tent. This was absolutely perfect! Deborah was the warmest host we've ever experienced, hands down. She made us feel so welcome and explained everything we could do on the property (endless trails, animals to meet, a pond to sit by and more). She gave us insights on where to get good local food and she gave us a delicious jar of honey made from the bees on her property. We are already planning our next trip back. Photos can do this location justice either. Can't recommend this enough. Thank you so much Deborah - we can't wait to come back!

Great for Kids
My son and I stayed here last year and loved it so we came back again this year. Deborah and Eric are great hosts, they are available for support if you need them but will stay out of your way if you want privacy, giving you the feeling that this is a place of your own. Not too far from the city, lots to do, property is well kept and the cabin is tranquil. We love it there.

Great, Rustic Stay
This place is great, but make sure you read the listing carefully. It's very accurate... The place is not big, off-grid with easy access. It makes for excellent car camping. It's not quite as secluded as we'd like, as there's a road nearby and at night you can see lights from the neighbours property. That said, the property is beautiful, and the farm is great to wander.

Quiet & Safe
Nice spot if you're looking for a quiet and safe camping experience. Plenty of things to do and see, my 6 year old son loved the animals. Fyi to travellers, cellular reception can be nonexistent in some areas, that's either a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for.

Great little off the grid get away, lots to look at and just enjoy. Everyone we met was so approachable and polite! We brought our 2 young's boys and made a bed on the floor, they had a fantastic time. Great time and place to get away with the husband or even small family!!

Warm woodsy time
This is our second time staying at the Beeberry Cottage and we really cannot recommend it enough! The cabin itself is beautiful, and the wood stove kept us warm through brisk nights. So nice to hike around their sprawling property and say hello to all the sweet animals. Deborah and Eric are the best hosts, communicative and so kind. Very grateful for our stay - a truly comforting experience just a short drive from Toronto.

the perfect outdoor getaway!
our time spent at Beeberry Cottage was exactly what we had hoped for! from cooking fresh picked garden vegetables on the fire to hiking beautiful trails to swimming and kayaking in the pond, we had a lovely few days in the outdoors. the cabin itself is secluded and picturesque with a fire pit, barbecue, and a very clean outhouse. Deborah and Eric are amazing hosts - incredibly kind, easy to reach, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. my partner is extremely thrilled about the thoughtfully crafted walking stick he purchased from Eric, as am I about the fresh honey and veggies we're grateful to enjoy. all in all, we highly recommend Beeberry Cottage! thank you for having us!

Perfect Getaway!
Our stay on the farm very much exceeded our expectations. Eric met us when we arrived and gave an overview of the property before taking us over to Beeberry Cottage. The cottage itself is cozy and comfortable and the outhouse is well maintained. It feels private and secluded, and we loved hearing the buzz of the bees. We had such a blast exploring the farm, meeting all the animals, feeding the pigs, and swimming in the pond. We were blown away by Deborah and Eric's hospitality. Both of them are warm, caring, and charismatic. Deborah took the time to pick us some fresh vegetables from the garden and let us into the farm store. We had the most amazing dinner with farm potatoes, sausage, fresh butter and herbs! Deborah and Eric made us feel right at home. Meeting them was definitely a highlight of our stay. Thank you for having us, we hope to be back soon!

Our perfect little getaway!
5 stars all around!! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with SUCH incredible hospitality. We were shown around the grounds to get our bearings and then set loose to enjoy our secluded little getaway! The space was perfect, they truly thought of everything!! From the spacious, smell-free and decorated little outhouse all the way to the battery candles and tea lights that totally set the perfect ambience as we drifted off to sleep. It was all just perfect. Communications were fast and responsive from inquiry all the way through check-in. They took extra precautions to keep this a safe and clean environment given the current pandemic. The ad was 100% transparent and everything we expected it to be and more!
