Family Friendly 1,000 sq. ft. Basement Apartment

Enjoy the Alaskan experience in a quiet, wooded neighborhood just 10 minutes from shopping, fast food, or ocean and mountain views and trail heads. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as moose, lynx, rabbits, squirrels and birds.

When you are at the apartment enjoy many family games and toys for infants through elementary age kids. No need to carry a bunch of stuff with you.

Full kitchen is stocked with baking items and amenities for cooking your own meals. You can even contract for me to pick up your groceries ahead of time for you at Costco and Walmart.

There is one large bedroom with a king size bed, with room to set up a Pack and Play or crib mattress. The shared space in the living room has a queen and a full size sofa sleeper. For kids and teens there is a special kid cave (4 ft. high) with a queen mattress. (Adults have been opting to sleep in the cave too, for a little more privacy.) We can sleep you and your extended family and friends very economically.

On the same property we have an additional apartment available. If you are traveling with a large group of up to 14, consider renting both spaces. 4-6 guests can sleep in this newly renovated apartment adjoining our house. (Search under Quiet Apartment in the Woods.)

Great Family Stay
Great property a short drive from Anchorage. It was the perfect balance of being close to town while the feeling was a relaxing rural stay. Happy was a fantastic host, communicated well and even chatted with us to arrange groceries for the stay. It was the perfect location for our family of five, and a great springboard to explore Anchorage (and recover from the flight) before heading out into Alaska!

Amazing location, friendly host and others that are renting were very helpful too. Loved the Cinnamon Rolls, such a nice touch! Also, there were so many things we could use that it really helped as we didn't have to spend so much. She even had Pancake Mix there for us to use on the one day we craved Pancakes! I would highly recommend staying here and will return.

Out of town feel but close to everything.
We loved the place, the host is super nice and a great communicator. This was the first stage in our family trip and couldn’t ask for a better experience, the cinnamon rolls were a great touch and are delicious. The location has a mountain feel but you can be to the airport in 15-20 minutes and 5-10 to all kinds of restaurants and retail shops. My 10yr old daughter loved the starry cove and playing in the big yard. Thanks Happy for starting our trip off on the right path.

Great location, great beds, and great cinnamon roles
My group of four loved staying at Happy's place. It is a shared home with 3 different properties to rent. We were in the basement, and there was some noise from the group who stayed on the main floor. When I told Happy, she was incredibly kind and handled the situation for us with no issue. Plenty of room for 4 adults and a full kitchen to make life easy. We would stay here again!

VRBO was very nice, clean, and quiet. Located in a gorgeous, wooded setting. Accomodations were one bedroom with a sleeping alcove for children or agile young people. There were comfortable fold out beds in two couches for extra sleeping space. Our host was very gracious and we would certainly stay there again.

Incredible place for a family
This listing exceeded my expectations. It is even nicer and more comfortable in person. It is HARD to find a reasonably priced place that can accommodate our 5 small children, let alone a place that actually is made to WELCOME them. This place is stocked with child-friendly toys, dishes and utensils, and sleeping spaces. Happy was so kind and allowed us a late checkout after a crazy busy trip the day before. I would 100% stay here again and recommend this listing to others. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy with a VRBO house before.

We found the property well cared for, the owner attentive of our needs, and the location minutes away from most things but private. We were even able to see a moose and her calf in the neighborhood. Our only problem was we didn't realize just what the second bedroom was- the cave- but it worked out well enough for our 2 night stay, and all 8 in our party were accomidated by the beds available.

what a great stay, and everything is perfect
this is our first time renting private residence. pre arrrival Happy answered all our questions promptly. we arrived very late, and Happy gave us very clear instructions and check in process is seamless. she baked deicuous cinnamon rolls for. us and.everyone in our family enjoyed. the property is very clean, well stocked, and has everything we need. the owners made us feel very welcomed. everyhing is perfect. the night before we left, Happy was very kind to notify us.that there was a large moose in the yard, everyone came out and took.lots of.pictures. this.was one of our highlights of the trip. Thanks to Happy and Brian who made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Definitely will come back.

Beautiful Rabbit Creek location
We previously lived in Anchorage and returned for a visit. This was a great hillside location. The "hideout" was great even for my teenager. The flour, rice, etc were all date labeled so we knew everything was fresh. Our only glitch was the lock. It was tricky but we figured it out with assistance from property owners. They were quick to respond. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay!

The owner contacted me before we left home to see if we needed anything++even offered to pick up groceries if we would be arriving late (above and beyond expectations). The location of the home made it super easy to access multiple tourist sites and Alaska is a beautiful state. The owner kept in touch by email for any questions we had. She even had a microwave replaced promptly after it stopped working. And I definitely want to mention the pan of luscious cinnamon rolls (homemade) that she left in our room for us. Depending on the size of your group, having one bathroom could present a challenge but there were only 3 of us so no problem. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity. Many thanks to the owners for all they did to make our trip a success.

Happy and Brian were great hosts! They communicated with us regularly and made sure everything was going well on our trip.
