Little House on the Lake in the Forest

*In summer months we require a minimum stay of 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday.* Wake up to the call of loons from this tiny and cozy lakefront cabin. Nestled at the remote base of Mt. Kearsarge, with unobstructed views of Ragged Mountain, this location affords year-round adventure on the protected south shore of Bradley Lake. Five minutes from Proctor Academy, 90 minutes from Boston. This retreat mixes ample amenities and high-speed internet with outdoor adventure!

In the warmer seasons enjoy easy access to hiking at nearby Mt. Kearsarge and Winslow State Parks, a 58-mile long rail trail for running or biking, swimming on the far end of Bradley Lake, Mountain Biking at Highland Mountain Bike Park, and golfing at Kearsarge Valley Golf Course. Canoe out into the lake (canoe and life jackets provided), or fish for smallmouth bass, pickerel, and perch. Spend evenings catching fireflies and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. Swimming is not allowed directly at the cabin, as per town regulations. There is a public beach less than a mile from the cabin. The second (and best) place to swim is the 'swimming island' in the middle of the lake which you can access by canoe (in under 5 minutes).

In the winter enjoy downhill skiing at Mt Sunapee & Ragged Mountain, ice fishing, as well as backcountry (XC) skiing & snowshoeing on the Proctor Academy trails, part of the Sunapee Ragged Kearsarge Greenway. Spend evenings cozied up by the wood stove with a glass of wine or cup of tea.

The entire cabin was recently renovated with hickory cabinetry and flooring, stainless steel appliances, and rustic, mid-century modern decor.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the basics: refrigerator and freezer, oven, stove, toaster, French press for coffee, water kettle, blender, pots and pans, cooking and eating utensils.

The cabin has one bedroom with a queen bed on the first floor. A wooden ladder with handrails up to a half-floor loft area offers a shared space with an additional queen bed. Individuals staying in the loft should be nimble-bodied.

The cabin offers robust and fast internet at 1 gigabit so bring your laptops! There is intentionally no standalone TV in the cabin, in an effort to keep the cabin a sanctuary in which to unplug. A selection of books and board games are available for your enjoyment.

Peaceful Perfect NH Getaway
What a perfect spot. We had the best time relaxing and canoeing on the lake. The home was clean and so cozy with the wood stove running! Truly a perfect location for a couple's getaway, highly highly recommend.

Beautiful lakeside retreat
We had a delightful time staying in this little cabin on Lake Bradley. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, and Laurel's instructions made the process of getting there and settling in very easy. The cabin is tucked away, private and quiet. The views of the lake are stunning, especially from the large porch and gazebo. Even better, of course, when you walk 50 yards down to the waterfront to sit in the Adirondack chairs beside the firepit. The firepit is just one of many heating options. We loved the wood stove inside and although we didn't get to use either of the two grills, we were glad to know they were an option. Our days of climbing ladders to a second story loft are over, but if I were a kid or young and lithe I would love that space. As it was, we were happy downstairs. It's small but very workable. Laurel had left us a welcome note and bottle of maple syrup, and the kitchen was well stocked with coffee beans and a kettle - as tea drinkers, we love to have a kettle - and although the kitchen is small, it's perfectly adequate if you like to cook while on vacation. The cabin is near the end of a narrow gravel road. If you are arriving for the first time, I recommend you get there during the daylight hours. Once there, the seclusion will embrace you.

The cabin is on a beautiful lake and is very clean and functional but it is very small. You can’t swim in the lake or anywhere very close to the house and no guests are allowed at the house.

Idyllic ski trip
Idyllic, quiet, private location with contemporary cabin feel. Being the second from last house on the road right before state park/forest lead to a very peaceful and quiet getaway, especially after long days on the slopes of Ragged Mountain - jut 20 minutes away. Kitchen was great and we prepared all our own food without any hiccups or lacking any utensils or appliances. The cross country skiing on the lake was wonderful - hit it right after a few inches of fresh powder and it was like floating on a cloud. The undeveloped side of the lake has a rugged, secluded beauty and homes on the other side are quite quaint little cottages. Overall I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Cabin was idyllic, Laurel, the host was very hospitable and welcoming. I can see this as a wonderful destination both in summer and winter!
