Staff service mixed. Check in was excellent. She was helpful and attentive. Breakfast staff not the most approachable. I ate dinner which was purchased at bar. Staff here pleasant. Reasonably tasty chicken escallope with salad and chips plus pear pudding with custard. Latter was slightly overcooked. fair value for money. Room was clean and nice bathroom. Loved the seat in the shower. A few plug sockets but none by side of bed. Comfortable nights sleep with air con. There was a wedding party here this night and I was surprised the room was quieter than it was ( 2nd floor ) could hear the music very slightly but it wasn’t a distraction. I would revisit. Downside I’m waiting for a parking ticket as I stopped on the road outside the hotel after seeing car park fees for the hotel. I didn’t want to drive in before 3pm. With hindsight it would not have been an issue !!

Comfy beds and a great bathroom
Everything was great. Larger room for the UK and the beds were very comfy. The bathroom was a good size and as a larger person travelling with a tall person we both appreciated that.

It would have been a better stay, if the staff were actually pleased to be employed at this hotel. I felt very unwelcome by atleast 90% of my encounters with staff, so much so that I opted room service rather than eating at the restaurant for 2 days. Positive note is the room is spacious and comfortable and the WIFI was really fast. Removing the sour faces from the equation, I would still support this hotel if I was in the area.

Review Of Night's Stay at Mercure May 2024
My Husband I stayed at the Mercure Hotel for one night to go to a concert at the Utilita Stadium. the hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It was warm and room facilities were good. There was a kettle, tea bags (no biscuits) coffee, iron and board, hairdryer, shampoo and gel. It was quiet despite being at the back near some storage containers but no traffic or loading is mentioned in one other review. The outlook is onto a grass banking and trees so you don't notice the containers too much. The restaurant was lovely, we had a meal in the evening and our waiter was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style down to hot water and coffee from a machine and you toast your own bread. There was plenty food available, and I was given non dairy milk when I asked. Reception were very helpful regarding getting cabs to and from Utilita.The journey is only about 10 minutes at most from the Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and found the rooms comfortable and very quiet and clean.
