The Other House offers a rural accommodation in a village of Cantabria where in addition to hosting you can carry out activities related to the Agrotourism origin of authentic rural tourism in which visitors have the option of getting closer to know and participate in the daily life of the villages that they visit knowing their culture, traditions and customs always in an optional way and without direct connection with the accommodation, since the activities are carried out in buildings and farms independent of the house.

The house is located in La Serna, a beautiful village of Valle de Iguña, located in the geographical center of Cantabria, in a region with a natural environment of great beauty and high ecological value.
The original building of which the whole structure is maintained dates back to the 15th century, restored 20 years ago by the family that owns it. It also displays an exquisite and original decoration, thus maintaining its authenticity and uniqueness by providing its guests with an unforgettable stay.

You will receive an old threshing floor converted into a table in a hall that maintains the original floor of the house that was created with river songs, creating different shapes and drawings.
In addition to its centuries-old walls, furniture and decorative details, it has four cozy double rooms with bathroom, three of them complete plus a large living room with fireplace and kitchen, on the ground floor. Where in addition to an old wood stove, it has all the utensils and tools necessary to cook your own dishes. To extend your comfort, it also has a bathroom on the ground floor.

The exquisite decoration of the whole house is not less in the attic area, where there is another room with television and games for children. Where at a glance through the window will be the only thing that assures you that it is still in the 21st century, and that it has not returned, by some spell, to the century that saw the birth of the house, the XV.
All the furniture is original and has been restored by the owner of the house; washbasins, headboards, beds, cabinets, lamps, tables, chairs ...

The accommodation has a garden with barbecue, a small porch and kennels for animals and equipped with all the garden furniture necessary to eat, meet, sunbathe or just relax. It is an independent area in the back of the house where you can spend a pleasant time either alone or in a group.
In the entrance area there is also ample parking space for at least 4 cars.

The Furnace of the Other House attached to our rural home, where you can live and experience a way of life forgotten for decades. It is an old refuge restored with the same style as the house, respecting its architectural elements and original materials.
It is a unique building because of its internal arrangement, it has a mezzanine or wooden abalconada area where the four beds that this apartment offers are located. Under this dependency is the room equipped with fireplace and seating area. Another of the singularities of the accommodation and that also gives it its name is the existence of a restored and functional old cooking oven where you can learn how to make bread as before or taste a magnificent roast lamb while savoring a locally produced sheep's cheese.

It is the ideal place to take refuge from stress, from everyday life, from haste, from work, from annoying neighbors and rest peacefully in a town that keeps the culture and rural traditions of Cantabria alive. It is usually occupied by couples or families of three or four members as well as small groups of friends who wish to enjoy a unique experience. It also has a small outdoor space where you can enjoy a meal outdoors and its direct access to the river of La Canal that passes very close. The oven also has heating, equipped kitchen, washing machine and all the necessary utensils and kitchen, bathroom and bed linen.

The lodgings are located in the region that forms the Iguña Valley, in the geographical center of Cantabria, in the upper-middle course of the Besaya River between the Saja Valley and the Pas Valley, therefore between spaces recognized by tourists and that share environmental and cultural features. Maravillosa casa rural
La casa es una preciosidad, decorada con gran gusto y muy cómoda. Tenía prácticamente de todo (lo poco que nos faltaba nos lo pusieron muy rápida y atentamente). Tuvimos la suerte de poder comer en el jardín (no utilizamos la barbacoa pero ahí está para el que quiera) y también estuvimos muy a gusto en el interior. Las habitaciones cómodas - ojo, la cama doble no es para personas grandes - y cada una con baño/aseo. La comunicación con Elena y con Pedro, perfecta. Conclusión: probablemente la mejor casa rural que he conocido y absolutamente recomendable
