Beautiful Casita with great location on the Hondo Mesa close the Rio Grande Gorge, Taos Ski Valley, and the Town of Taos!
Casita de Alfarero is situated on the peaceful Hondo Mesa where the night sky glows with stars. Whether you are looking to explore the Rio Grande Gorge and the hidden hot springs or enjoy a day on the mountain, this is the home for you.
This "Casita," or little home, offers stunning desert mountain views and is surrounded by sage brush and other desert plants. Close to Taos Ski Valley and Red River Ski areas and 15 minutes from the historic town of Taos, this is the perfect home base for exploring the surrounding area.
This custom 1 bedroom 1 bath fully equipped adobe home is perfect for a couple’s retreat or for a small family adventure (Luxury XL twin air mattress provided for extra sleeping space). Pets are family too! Casita de Alfarero is pet friendly so bring that four-legged friend along as well. Additional pet fee required.
As you enter, you will admire the simplicity of its design, which requires less energy in the summer and winter months. You will feel at home on the cozy couch or oversized armchair as you relax after a long adventurous day. The large windows and natural lighting flooding into the room give it a nice glow at sunrise and sunset.
The incredible size of the fully stocked kitchen in Casita de Alfarero is perfect for making gourmet meals or simple tapas. The gas range oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster are perfect in the morning when you need a quick meal before heading out for the day.
If you're more interested in grilling out, step out onto the patio dining area that includes a table for four and umbrella. Use the outdoor gas grill to make BBQ or steaks. Or safely enjoy the wood kiva fireplace (we are not always able to provide wood for stays). Don't forget to take advantage of the night sky in New Mexico! Enjoy unobstructed views of the night sky with little to no light pollution.
The bedroom features a gorgeous wood frame Queen Bed. Additionally Available for use is the Luxury XL Twin Air Mattress with built in pump and headboard which provides space for a third person to sleep (cozy linens provided). Please be aware that while this home is fully equipped, there is limited floor space, especially with the air mattress in play. A Spacious bathroom and laundry room lies between the bedroom and living room with Shower over tub combo.
Our team is local and lives in Taos. We are available to you at any time before and during your entire stay! Messaging is often the easiest way to get a hold of us and is available 9am to 6pm MST daily. If you experience an emergency outside of our normal business hours, including: no heat, no water, lock out or other major home issue, please contact us immediately via phone.

There is ample parking for 2-3 cars in front of the home.
Traveling to and around Taos via vehicle is the best option for full exploration potential. Public transportation is EXTREMELY limited in our small town but there are still many amazing things close by to explore! There are very few Uber/etc. drivers in town, but we do have a few less common and unique options available. Please inquire ahead of time if you are looking for specific transportation needs to and from Taos and while here.
During winter months, AWD vehicles are recommended for the area. If you will be venturing into the mountains and Taos Ski Valley, 4WD or AWD is often required to access these areas.

Upon booking, we also offer access to full conciergerie services, everything from private chefs, pre-made meals, meal delivery, grocery delivery, transportation services, massage therapists and more. In an area where normal delivery and other services are not readily available, we can provide for your every need. We can assist in booking dinner and spa reservations in some of the best and hard to get establishments Taos has to offer. We are also available for top recommendations for all outdoor activities and the gear needed to enjoy every adventure Taos has to offer: Ballooning, plane rides, rafting, biking, climbing, horseback riding, snowmobiling and so much more.

Pet Policy Information:
This home is pet friendly! We love furry family members! If you are planning on bringing your furry friend, please be aware of the following policy and rules: There is a maximum of 2 pets allowed per reservation and there is a $150 non-refundable fee that will be applied to the reservation. All pets must be declared on/with the reservation at the time of booking, or, at the latest, prior to check in. Pet fee must also be paid in full prior to check in. If a pet is brought into the home and has not been previously declared, a fine, in addition to the $150 pet fee, may be assessed and charged to the guest. At the time of departure, owner and/or management will perform a routine departure inspection.
If damages are found and determined/assumed to be caused by a pet in the home, such damages will be documented and submitted as a claim to the hosting company (i.e. Airbnb, Vrbo, Taos Love LLC, etc.). Such a claim and monies requested may be used to recuperate charges for, but not limited to, excess cleaning time, supplies and repairs needed, replacement items, etc. The owner and/or management company will determine if the $150 pet fee paid by guest will or will not cover any or all of needed monies for aforementioned issues. Guest will be notified if damages are found and if a claim will be filed.
