As of May 23, 2020, my cabin is available for rent. I will follow CDC guidelines on cleaning, using an EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19 between customers. Thank you, George Stanley.

Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.

The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.

The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.

Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet. To get a real glimpse of the property, go to https://youtu.be/gd66YZ9MEsE

A perfect cabin above the clouds
This is a perfect rustic cabin for two. George was very helpful and suggested a great park for us. A beautiful view was the reward for the steep drive.

Stay for the view!
This is a wonderful, rustic little place with the most amazing sunrise view! I personally loved the drive to the mountain top. The bonus is the abundant wildlife around the property including a momma bear and her 3 cubs. George is a very kind and gracious host. Will definitely stay here again when in the area!

Fabulous Getaway
We felt like we found a gem—a quiet place with incredible views, cozy cabin feel, a kind & generous host. Add to that the amazing opportunity to observe black bears. All while being within a few miles of so many things to do in the Asheville area.

Mountain Stay
George’s property is located up on the mountain just outside of downtown Asheville. The road was steep to get there but the views were great off the porch. It was very cool to see the sunrise over the mountains. It was also very nice to have a dog friendly place to stay. While seeing the bears was cool, we felt conflicted and can’t condone feeding the bears.

Best view in Asheville!
You can drive the whole Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville (which we did) and not get a better view than from George’s deck. Gorgeous. Cute little cabin on ground floor of George’s house with a grand deck overlooking the mountains. We did see a sweet young bear the first night. We felt a world away but were only 10 minutes from really good pizza and 15 minutes from anything you might need to want. Very comfortable bed. We did not cook but the kitchen was fine for takeout and warming up tea. The drive up and down is an adventure not for the feint of heart (at least that first time!). The bathroom is nice appointed. One warning, if you are broad shouldered or carry some extra girth like we do,the shower is a tight fit. We Will definitely return!

Bear central
We absolutely adored the cabin we stayed in! We had such a good anniversary, and adventure in Asheville. George is such a kind host, and had truly to most special experiences to share. The view from the cabin was just phenomenal. I can’t even express how beautiful that sunrise was, and you face the east so you get the full experience. Then the neighborhood bears oh my goodness. Not only did we see multiple bears, but we saw a momma and her 3 cubs! George would tell us when they would come so we could go out and watch them. We will definitely be coming back!

Very enjoyable. Incredible view. Rustic, but had everything we needed. Approach road is paved but not for the faint of heart - it is one lane and steep, with several hairpin turns. Gas fire is nice but is not vented to the outside. Highlight was seeing a bear!

Wonderful weekend getaway
This residence was exactly as described. It was rustic but well appointed and had a beautiful view. Our weekend there was very relaxing and the host, George, was very gracious. Although you seem to be out in the middle of nowhere you are very close to restaurants and shopping. The drive is a little difficult for those who are not used to steep hills and hairpin turns but we encountered no issues.

Great experience start to finish
It's a long and winding road leading to George's cabin in the woods, but so worth it! Even though you're only a few miles from shopping and access to major highways, you'd never know it as you sit on the deck sipping coffee or a glass of wine, and watching the sun setting behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not only is the accommodation peaceful and relaxing, it's also well-maintained and well-equipped. The smallish kitchen is part of the living room/den, but has everything you'd need, including 3 kinds of coffee makers (we were pleased to have access to a stovetop espresso maker!), toaster, microwave, plenty of pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. Bed was super comfy king-sized with much better pillows than you usually find, cozy bedroom, small but efficient bathroom with surprisingly plenty of space to keep toiletries. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck, just enjoying the view and the sun. If all that wasn't enough, the fee is very reasonable, and George is one of the friendliest, nicest guys you'll ever meet. Highest recommendation for anyone staying in or around Asheville.

Beautiful, but Cold
Built out basement with a cabin feel, the views are tremendous, the owner an absolute joy, the rooms well built and appointed and clean. The shower is a bit small for an average size adult, but with all the appliances and kitchen space, you can cook meals for yourself. The only other thing is remember to bring a heavy jacket and headgear in early spring as it gets cold and the wind chill on the ridge is fierce. Also, out of season can see road and picnic spot closures at the BRNP. Be prepared for a bit of a climb on the road up. The wife and I and our husky mix Boyd enjoyed our stay as it is a comfortable environment if the weather is bad. And the location is near the BRNP and other sites. George is a great host. Highly recommended.
