The property is dated. At check in, I learned that it was previously a Holiday Inn and is awaiting renovation. There was an unpleasant odor in the hallways and room. The breakfast area was hot and did not seem air conditioned. I checked in about 1 1/2 hours early and had to pay an additional $25, which I’ve never encountered before.

I was in an accessible room and they did not have a mat in the shower. So even though it was wheel chair accessible and had handle bars plus a seat to pull down and sit. Because it was so slippery I fell and hit my head on the wooden bench while it was in the up position. This is dangerous and i almost couldnt get up bc it was still too slippery. What can be done about this?

The room I reserved was not available when we checked in, I reserved a king bed room with a sofa bed. The room they gave us was only a king. No sofa bed. They did not have any other rooms for 3. They did offer to give us another room in addition to the one we had but it was in another floor. That was insane, we were traveling as a family. Why would we want to be in 2 rooms on separate floors?! We had to go to Walmart and buy an air mattress for my daughter. We asked for additional sheets, pillows and blankets and the guy at the desk seemed annoyed that I was asking. Let’s not forget that the air conditioner was not working. It was set to 60, but it felt like a sauna.

When we checked in the lady at the front desk was very friendly. It was very warm in the lobby area and they had isolating fans all over, the carpet was very warn. Also the pool was closed. Don't know the reason it was closed, but they were still waiting on the health inspector to come and inspect the pool so they could open it back up. Our first room assigned was filthy. It was very dusty and the desk was sticky. Don't think the cleaning crew wiped anything down. The carpet had several stains and we noticed a molding area in the ceiling corner. The bathroom floor was also filthy. You could tell it had not been swept or mopped. There was hair behind the door and around the toilet area. We complained and give a different room. The second room was no better. There was dust on the microwave and counters. The bathroom floor was dirty also. We also found a pair of mens underwear next to the bed. The bed skirt was half way on. Our final straw was finding a pair of mens underwear on the floor next to the bed. We complained again and was given a refund. We DO NOT recommend Wingate Hotel in Ashland, Ohio!

The place was run down and horrible. All and I mean all the furniture in the room was old, scraped up, chipped and disgusting. I wanted to leave as soon as I walked in the room. We were only staying for one night and we already had paid. The lid and seat on the toilet seat were even chipped. The place was dirty. There were no top sheets on the beds and the bottom sheets were pitted out. The pool and the workout room were closed. This place was a huge disappointment.

Furniture scratched and needs updating Rugs very worn. Housekeeping came in to change out linens and coffee pods , empty trash but didn’t make bed or clean toilet Bed skirt only put on half way when I arrived It was very noticeable but housekeeper never adjusted it even though they were in every day Seems they just went in to get out as soon on as possible . I won’t stay there agss as in.

Nice hotel. The pool was drained but by the time we got back to the hotel room anyways the pool would have been closed anyways so no big deal. The only complaint is the ac in our room on the 4th floor didn’t work very well. It was definitely a bit warm in our room. Hot to open with window to get some air flow.

There was visible disappointment to many guests who were expecting a swimming pool experience this weekend. Breakfast was underwhelming and the chairs needed a good dusting. The building itself could use some attention. The beds and pillows were comfy though and the housekeeping staff was so helpful and accomodating. Multiple amenities are close and convenient. It was fine as a base.
