Not very friendly front desk staff in the morning. I understand they are busy, but a little patience always helps. Breakfast: So-so. Room: Pillows are hard and a/c unit kicked on/off all night. Loud. Door locks: key system old and we needed to get them reprogrammed. Maybe it’s expectations but this hotel is billed as 4 star. In reality it’s a solid clean 2.5 star.

The room was nice but the window opened all the way with no screen or stopper. I reported that. Breakfast was very BAD! I have had better at Motel 6. There was no oatmeal, no bagels...does anyone eat biscuits and gravy anymore? As a vegetarian it was slim pickins.

We were in Ashland for the Shakespeare festival. This hotel was clean, the staff was professional and it was just blocks away from the theater. There are many cute tables and seating throughout the property. The breakfast was quite good and we ate outside on the terrace. They even had gf bread. I would highly recommend and we hope to stay again in the future.

We have stayed at this property a few times over the years. It very convenient and easy walk to the theaters, restaurants and the park. It’s lovely to sit outside with the sound of the creek. Unfortunately, it’s gone downhill. It used to be wonderful to have the happy hour and return from the theater in the evening to a chocolate chip cookie. Those are gone. The breakfast, however, is enjoyable. Nice spread. We stayed one night but had to go down to the front desk multiple times because our key card kept getting deactivated. I just don’t know if it’s worth the money anymore.

I actually meant to select good on first question. Our room smelled like wet dog. We were put in the Cascade building on this property. Thankfully we brought a sanitizing air freshener with us which we used around the room to make the smell disappear for a while. I hope next time we visit, we might get a 1st floor room in main building with queen beds. Thank you Mrs Earnest

Staff seemed poorly trained - could not answer questions about how to get around the hotel, where the exits were to access various locations around Ashland and dining options. The hotel itself is laid out in a very confusing manner. It's easy to get lost and staff provided no help. Nice woman conducting wine tasting in the lobby but when I attempted to buy a bottle the front desk staff did not know where to look for the wine or that it should be in a refrigerator keeping it cold. Then they could not ring up the purchase on the computer. I finally paid cash directly to the tasting woman. Very noisy my last night. Young people running and yelling in the hallways and slamming doors @ 11:30 at night. I could hear it all through my door/walls.

Gem in Ashland
The hotel was located just a few minutes walk from the main part of town but along the creek with a beautiful garden area. The breakfast area was much nicer than most hotels. The room was quite large and very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This property was beautiful inside and outside. The grounds were beautifully maintained with convenient parking close to our room. The sitting areas and dining room were spacious and welcoming.
