Please note: this listing is to rent the LOWER LEVEL home only. Not the entire Chalet. The pictures shown are exactly what you get. The owners reside in the upstairs home. The garage parking lot is a potential shared space however everthing else is completely private. The b&b has 7 beds and will comfortably accommodate 8 guests or 12 if sharing beds. We now have 9 hole frisbee golf and cornhole outdoor games! Relax and enjoy this unique spot on the Ashtabula River. See the Eagle soaring by, the Deer crossing the river and the Great Blue Heron at the falls edge. Here at Eagle River Retreat you’ll enjoy a clean comfortable space with all the amenities and comforts of home. Enjoy our beautiful forest areas. Relax on our private rock beaches. Visit the falls and see the mini root cave. Enjoy fishing, swimming and cozy nights by the fire. Our newest addition is the hot tub and walk out deck overlooking the river. A great get away!
The space:
Enjoy a peaceful and luxurious stay in our spacious lower level home. This luxury walk out basement home is set on the beautiful Ashtabula River with access to 3,000 feet of river to the east and west with several access points to the water. This 1400 square foot space has all the amenities. Enjoy our new hanging swings and outdoor fireplace! We now have a new hot tub that seats 7 guests. We recently built a new private observation deck overlooking the river!

Please note: The main house upstairs is the owners residence and will be occupied by the them most of the time. We do have 2 small dogs that roam the property and are very friendly. Service support pets are welcome. Your lower level home is completely private, locked and secure. We do not share any spaces except possibly outdoor in the garage parking lot area. We have a backup generator in case of power outage and we always plow the snow in winter.

We are located not far from the highway, only minutes from the famous Smolen-Gulf covered bridge/Indian trails park and Brants apple orchard. Not far from Geneva on the Lake and SPIRE institute. Close to the Harbor, Walnut Beach and Lake Shore Park. See the magnificent Lake Erie with boating and fishing access. Visit our local wineries and enjoy downtown shopping. See the local museums, covered bridges and historical sites. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Small children should be monitored when walking close to roped off areas due to steep drop off. No guests are allowed to cross the safety ropes or guard rails.

Perfect weekend
The property was exceptional. The host/hostess have many outdoor activity supplies available for guest to use. The river is amazing, everyone caught fish! We saw eagles, had campfires, relaxed in the hot tub. The home is secluded with nature and peacefulness, yet is accessible to shops and restaurants only a few miles away. The property owners were very pleasant to work with. I’ll give Eagle River House 100 Stars !!!!

All that we hoped and more
Eagle River House did what many properties can’t: Be even better than promised in the pictures. The property is stunning, with gorgeous views of the Ashtabula River from the high-on-a-cliff deck overlook. We enjoyed sipping morning coffee and evening wine with that view. And yes, we saw the bald eagle and great blue heron living their best lives from our perch above the river. The inside of the rental is spacious and stylish, with tons of perfect touches throughout. You won’t be disappointed!

A must stay! Beautiful, peaceful retreat
We stayed here for our annual girls trip and we loved it! The property is so beautiful and the views breathtaking. So peaceful! The hot tub was also a great way to end the day. Our Host was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. We will be back! An added bonus was their sweet little dogs that would come down and visit.

Best Vacation Rental I've Ever Been To
It may be biased because I was here during the 2024 Solar Eclipse, but this was the most lovely property and the layout of the house and outdoor space was amazing. The whole place is so welcoming and well-thought out. The kitchen and inside is also gorgeous. We would definitely come back here in an instant. The sweet little dogs are a bonus and I hope they grace you with their presence.

Eagle River House
Beautiful property located on a quiet river. Great place to get away but still have access to the local wineries and nice restaurants. Lower floor is very clean, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed hiking down by river and sitting by the small waterfalls reading. Perfect place to recharge! Hosts were very responsive and answered all questions. WiFi was fast . Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
