Easy 5 stars!
I have stayed in many VRBOs over the years and this home is the nicest appointed I have ever stayed at. It had all the little things that most VRBO renters don't think of or don't bother with that make a big difference in comfort and convenience. Great for families for a nice up north stay.

Relaxing
We had a wonderful stay! The well stocked home was perfectly clean and ready. The fish weren’t biting but the whole family had a fun time out on the lake. Campfires each night for s’mores or pie irons. We aren’t familiar with horses so we didn’t know the near by equestrian campground was going to be upset with our bike ride when we were off exploring! Oops! Won’t make that mistake again. Owners were great with communicating what we needed. Great place to stay!

Great Getaway Location
Had a wonderful time. Cabin is beautiful and was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. We were hoping to do more winter outdoors activities, but the weather did not cooperate. We did, however enjoy our time together playing games as a family and watching some Christmas movies. The cabin is definitely off the beaten path, but we loved the secluded little neighborhood. The cabin had wifi, but cell service in the area is very limited.

Truly a nature lover’s paradise
The house was lovely - clean, inviting, & well appointed especially in the kitchen. Plenty of outside space - perfect porch, fire pit, & small dock. Garage access was nice with dogs as a staging and clean up spot before entering the house. Nice walking/hiking options both around the small neighborhood and the vast trail system that is steps from the door which allows endless outdoor exploration. Good location for day trips - ~30 mins to Gaylord & under 1 hr to Mackinaw City/Island & Alpena. Lastly, but critical, the primary bed was comfortable. There was even a massive dog bed that our pups took full advantage of. All in all, the space felt like home.

Clean & cozy
House was very clean and cozy and the beds are super comfy. Great variety of kitchen wares and of great quality also, which isn’t common, so thank you for that! Of course the game room is always a hit. The location is sweet if you like being out in the boonies and want to unplug and go exploring.

The house was lovely. We stayed with another couple, there was plenty of space for the four of us. We loved the rustic decor, so cute!! We had a great time staying in this house, It was clean, and set up well to cook at the house. We enjoyed the kayaks, we took several relaxing strolls around the lake. The corn hole game was a nice bonus to get outside and enjoy the weather. We would definitely recommend this house.

Clean and well-appointed, but no privacy
The property was clean, well appointed, and nicely laid out for our group. The second living room was the perfect place to have the early-rising children sit and watch tv while allowing others to sleep. It was obvious that the owners care about their guests' experience. My only complaint with the rental was the privacy. Since vrbo can't list the addresses prior to booking, you rely on the accuracy of the online photos and other guests' reviews. Upon pulling up, I was immediately disappointed in the lack of privacy. Standing on the deck you can see 10 other houses, and directly into the next door neighbor's living room. Neighbors were walking across the lawn to talk to each other. We spent the bulk of the time trail riding (access to trails was excellent) so this was ok because we weren't around all that much, but when we were, we opted to mostly stay indoors for this reason. I will say that the next door neighbor was friendly. I just wish the listing more accurately reflected the home's position relative to other homes, as we would not have booked it if it did and we wont book it again for this reason. I will also add for those looking to ride the trails - the owner had their pontoon on a trailer in the driveway, so between the two trucks with trailers and 2 side-by-sides we brought up, the driveway was packed full. There was access to the garage, which was a big bonus for when it rained. It's a great house and the owner's obviously care, just be aware of the above

Great vacation spot!
This property was immaculately clean and fully stocked with everything. Avery Lake is beautiful and quiet; we enjoyed going out on kayaks and paddle boards. Everything in the home was user friendly; the light switches were labeled and there were directions to all of the appliances and tv’s, etc. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets, pillows and even box fans in each room. We enjoyed a couple of fires at the fire pit and the young adults enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement. This was a great place to gather and relax as a family; we already booked our return stay next year! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us!!!

Family Getaway
My wife and I vacationed this year with our youngest son who is home from college, our Daughter and her husband, and our 2 year old Granddaughter , we wanted a chance to get away with them before she has our 2nd Grandchild this August so the timing was perfect. We had an awesome time, we fished from the canoe as well as from the dock, went to some antique stores , were able to go to a very nice local beach that Michelle recommended to us as well. We did have on and off rain for most of the week so we were not able to have a fire outside but still had a wonderful time. We finished off with a movie and popcorn night the night before we left. Thank you again Michelle, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay! Finch / Bishop families.

Cozy house in the woods
We enjoyed our stay at this house. It had everything you need for one week with four adult kids. The game room was perfect for rainy days (ping pong, shuffleboard, air hockey, darts, and many board games available). The kayaks provided were excellent and a short paddle to Avery Lake. The lake is very quiet and great to see loons, frogs, tons of birds, turtles, and great fishing. We caught several bass. The location is down an unpaved road, quite secluded but beautiful... we saw deer, turtles, raccoons, and a porcupine. The place was perfect for day trips to Gaylord, Alpena, Presque Island, and even Mackinac Island, all around 1 to 1 1/2 hours away. A grocery store was close by in Lewiston (family fare). We loved our stay.
