House is beautifully 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with 3 separate living areas and additional sleeping in basement. House is 1750 square feet so there's plenty of space to spread out. Interior is completely finished with knotty pine. Located on beautiful Avery Lake in Atlanta Michigan adjacent to hundreds of acres of state forest. A natures lover paradise.
Family room features a 50 inch TV with satellite TV and some board games. Living room features a fully functional wood burning fireplace, 50 inch TV with satellite, 2 recliners and couch. Walk out basement has game room (air hockey, table shuffleboard, ping pong, table for games/cards), couch, mini-fridge and 2 twin beds.
Sleeps 8: Linens provided. Loft bedroom has king bed, two main floor bedrooms each have queen bed, two twin beds in the basement.
House has two main floor bathrooms (one with tub/shower combination and the other with stand up shower).
Property features: Horseshoe pit, throwing block (for axes or knives - must bring your own), campfire pit (hot dog forks and campfire pie cookers on site), gas grill, canoe, 5 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and boat dock.
Avery Lake is 350 Acre All-Sport Lake with quiet hours from 7 pm to 10 am. Quiet hours are for fishing and observing nature. This lake has a mostly natural shoreline and beautifully clean water. Two-thirds of lake is surrounded by state forest land. Excellent fishing for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Sucker, Sunfish, Walleye, and Yellow Perch.
Canoe, kayak and life jackets are available. Please use at your own risk. Bring your own boat, jet-skis, etc. Boat launch 1/2 mile down the road at Avery Lake State Campground and park at our dock. Rental boats are available from Twin Lakes Marina in Lewiston and able to be delivered to Avery Lake for your use.
Avery Lake offers excellent swimming opportunities for families of all ages. There's a nice beach at the state campground 1/2 mile from the house.
ATV/Snowmobile riders paradise. There's miles and miles of trails throughout the state land. Many of the trails are groomed.
Excellent home base for day trips. Only one hour to Cross in the Woods Shrine in Indian River, 90 minutes to Mackinac City. Take the kids on a ferry ride to Mackinac Island or across the Mackinac Bridge to the UP of Michigan.
We want your family to enjoy northern Michigan as much a we do. Our family vacations are always best if our entire family is together which includes our beagle Reilly and our Labrador Duke. We welcome your dog to vacation with you as long as the these rules are followed:
1. Must be up to date on all vaccinations.
2. Must be on current heart worm, flea/tick preventative (area is wooded and there are ticks around).
3. Must be friendly (non-aggressive breed), house trained and NOT get on any furniture.
4. Must not be allowed to roam free outside.
5. Must be crated when not with family.
6. Owner must clean up all pet waste from yard.
7. Pay additional pet cleaning fee (house must be allergy free for next guests).
