Decent hotel, poor service
Nice enough hotel, good condition etc. spa is good. Buy service was awful, arrived at 9pm, told bar was open until midnight then told to leave at 10.30. No bedsheets on one of the beds, night porter dumped a pile of sheets in the room and we had to put them on ourselves. The hotel did eventually (after an hour of discussion) give a discount but it ruined what is a decent hotel otherwise.

Family Lodge stay
Booked as a last minute getaway. Lodge was comfortable and clean but a little tired and possibly in need of updating. Staff at check in/out, dinner and the pool were all friendly and helpful. Bought food for lunch and dinner, found to be pretty average and not great value for money. If we returned we'd most likely eat in the lodge instead. The inflatable slide and football were definitely a hit with the kids, they also loved the pool! All in all a good stay.

Lovely set up for a family gathering. Lodges are nice - some parts have been updated and others less so but still nice. Bar / restaurant staff were very accommodating. A little bit isolated so unless that’s what you want, then be prepared to drive to other things. We drove to Crieff Hydro for the kids activities and came back to Duchally early evening. All in all, great short break and would definitely go back.

We had booked twice in a row. The manager tried to charge us £50 to clean the room. We were advised on arrival that we would be charged for extra electricity usage. This is not a hotel. It is short term rental lodges with no daily cleaning. Kids shouting in the playground next to the lodges until after 10pm. I would never stay there again.

The property doesn't deliver on the description and photos. It's noisy, with kids shouting until post 10pm from the playground in the evening, football crowd type singing from the bar until later. The rooms are too basic, with tight shower space, limited supply of shower gel, no conditioner and uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. On arrival, the receptionist, Ruby, didn't want us to have a door card per person, citing a shortage. We had to ask for the manager before she conceded. It was an awful start. I wouldn't stay here again. Overrated.

Be aware, double check every detail prior to booki
While the property itself is beautiful, wish there would have been more details regarding the property so we could have been more prepared. Family of 3 traveling from the US, once we arrived at the Gleneagles train station and realized there was zero transportation to get to the property. After doing more research once we arrived we found it on their website deep down. Definitely an oversight on our part but feel as though that should be something that is detailed and specific front page information. Secondly wish there was a store on property for basic food, hygiene options. There is nothing within walking distance. The staff at the bar and restaurant are less than friendly and aren’t willing to answer questions every interaction was as if we were bothering them. Once in our lodge every notice was that we would be charged if we did this or that…. For example if we went over the allotted 10poujds of power daily we would be charged additional. Or if we didn’t clean up to their standards we’d be charged additional.

Beautiful grounds, nice units but could use a good overhaul. Bathroom tiles were lifted off the floor, grout all cracked. Kitchen sink was not secured. Just seemed tired. We were there for a full week, never had any services, had to go to front desk to get fresh tiles. Overall good, just a few quirks.

Out of the way, but I chose that when booking. Rental car definitely needed. Property does look a little old and could use some updating, but was perfect for our group of 5 and we made good use of the washer/dryer at the end of a 2 week trip. Restaurant on site we used quite a bit due to the out of the way location was good, but not great.
