The pool was almost warmer than the ambient temperature. The surface is grey/black which absorbs heat. I have been in pools in hot climates before and never experienced this. You never see an empty pool in Las Vegas or some place like that. It’s like swimming in warm soup. There was hardly anyone using the pool for this reason. NO ONE AT THE POOL for the majority of the weekend. NO ONE. 100 degrees out and no one using the pool. Which means the pool bar got very few or absolutely no patrons. This was a horrible experience as we were unable to enjoy the one main amenity that this property offered. Oh. And the ceiling of the bathroom is covered in MOLD.

The place to be!
Great fun and vibrant place to stay. It has a great pool, bar, and restaurant with amazing and friendly staff. The hotel is right on 6th street, close to tons of bars and restaurants.

I arrived to check in around 1 pm and they couldn't give me a room so I had to check in until 11 pm when I got back from my commitments. The rooms don't have a bathroom so they are shared and I found them very dirty. In the end, they charged my card more than I booked and I had to settle it with my bank for the surcharge made to my card. It is a hotel that has a good breakfast and is in a convenient location but I don't recommend staying there if you don't like noise because the street is full of bars and loud music until late night…

Once we found this gem, we will never stay anywhere else in Austin. Becca always makes us feel at home, along with the rest of the crew. It’s a hopping side of 6th but not CRAZY like the other end. Your choice of three on site bars and restaurant… what else could you need? The pool parties on Saturdays are a must hit. Not only do you get to mingle with people staying at the hotel, but the locals are there too! The perfect place to let loose and have a great time. East Austin Hotel is our forever home when we visit.

This property has everything you need for a good stay! The pool was beautiful, the restaurant had great food and the room was nice! The shared bathrooms were always clean and you have tons of privacy! The location is so close to many food trucks and places to eat/drink/live music! Would recommend!
