Do not stay there if you want to sleep, you are sleeping few meters from the railroad, sound is awful and you will not be able to sleep.

Excellent location, walking distance to walled cit
Our room was very, very small.... pictures on website deceiving, was told at the hotel that was a standard room(??).... traveled several times in France and never had stayed in such a small room... my husband 6.1 tall became an instant contortionist hahaha.... other than that very nice staff, wonderful area for breakfast with good food and excellent hotel location with parking for guests, free of charge!!!! Will recommend.

Sweet hotel, warm hosts, close to tourist sites.
This is a hotel with character, the building was lovely and the host and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast was wonderful with something for every one, and lovely seating inside and out. Private and locked parking and easy access to main streets. A great find.

Hidden gem handy to old town
Stayed for 3 nights in one of the studios (not in the main building). Free parking and kitchenette was great, as was the location - a short walk from the old town. Service was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice with a decent range, and you can even enjoy it outside in the nice courtyard. Some downsides were that the wifi was pretty much inaccessible from our room (much better in the main building and courtyard) and we had to be very careful with the shower curtain otherwise the water would go everywhere. Overall though a great little place.

This was a great little find. The street front looks questionable, but the hotel was perfect for what I was looking for. Walking distance to the city center, parking for the car was on-site and included in the rate. The staff was very helpful and make great recommendations. Great for someone with a car. Only drawback was the rooms were very small, but traveling alone it was fine.

This hotel was in an excellent location , easy to walk to all the main sights. It had the benefit of free car parking. The hotel itself is an old building full of character, however this meant that our room was very small, and the bathroom tiny. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was OK, although the cereals were all sugary (no plain cornflakes!).

A little jewel in Avignon
A little jewel tucked away from the Avignon city walls but still only a couple of blocks from all what the city has to offer. Since we are a family of 4, we got one of the apartments. Very clean, really outstanding service! Also, the parking and the included breakfast are nice pluses. The owners really make you feel part of the family. we will surely return on our next visit to the city.

I only spent one night there. The owner and his son were very cordial but the room was small and crowded. I felt it was a bit expensive for what I got. And why don't he French provide face cloths?? Sadly I had to et up very early so missed breakfast.

Hotel Monclar was everything I wanted. ..To stay in an old French hotel that was within walking distance of the railway station. On arrival I felt completely satisfied with my choice.

Nice stay!
Wonderful staff and a lovely room! We were given a map and recommendations of places to see and where to eat during check-in, and we were given information on the next place we were traveling. The room was one of the most comfortable places during our trip. It's very close to the train station, which is a blessing and a curse because it can be a little loud at night if you forget to shut the window!

great location & price!
Great location just outside the wall to the old town. Once you get in off the street it's a charming old building with lots of character. I was in one of the little apartments not in the main building so had a little kitchen. There was a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. The room & bed was clean but lacked a few basic things like somewhere to put the soap & hang your towel. Free off street parking was great, staff very friendly & helpful.

I was told that the room i booked - a single with cooking facilities and my reason for choosing this hotel - did not exist and that I would have to pay a higher price. If I had been able to find what I needed nearby , I would not have stayed more than 1 night

"Don't judge a book by its cover"
Hotel met our needs for an overnight stay. Bit concerned when we drove up to hotel which looked run down in a sketchy neighborhood. However, once inside hotel, it was fine. Our room behind reception desk was renovated and comfy, but bathroom was small. Breakfast was copious and nice option to eat in their garden. Parking limited and entrance from street into parking area was very tight. Within walking distance to train station which is opposite of Old Town and Pope's Palace. Friendly and helpful staff who gave maps and info for cities we were going to visit next.

Stayed five nights, for a business trip in Av. Hotel is 5 min. from the old centre, Palais du papes only 20 min walk. Train and bus station only 5 min .From the outside the accomodation looks somewhat expired, but inside the rooms are renovated and comfortable althoug a little bit noisy. The railway is close by, but the noise of the trains is not annoying. Room was clean. Two (minor) remarks. 1) breakfast is offically from 7:30. For business trips this is too late, (I had to leave at 7:15). However I could grab some baguette and coffee, no problem. 2) Wifi in my room at the desk was poor, I could only get acces in the other corner, so took my laptop on bed. Also when you go on-line you have to start a vexing (always the same) advertisement, lasting for 3 min. The practicle solution is to put the speaker on mute and open an second tab for browsing.Nevertheless, hotel is recommended. ( I hear a lot of complaints from my collegues who stayed in cheeper hotels downtown: small, noisy, dirty, no service)

Average hotel that is overpriced for what you get
There is nothing actually really bad about this hotel it was that I expected more based on the reviews and rankings from tripadvisor and also for the price. The hotel is outside the main walls and is about a 15 min wall from the attractions. The room I had was for 1 person and was incredibly small, the bathroom had no door and was tiny. The shower wasn't enclosed meaning you could potentially spray the entire bathroom with water. There was no minibar, and neither soap or tissues some of which I expect with a 3 star hotel. The breakfast was very basic, coffee terrible and deli cuts and cheese pretty ordinary. However it's reasonably quiet despite being near the train line and the bed was comfortable. The guy running the place was helpful and spoke good English I just expected more and think there are better options in Avignon for a lower price based on all the tariffs I saw when wandering around.
