La Tonnara is the place where in the past the traditional Mattanza del Tuna was held, today recalled, every summer in August, with the "Festival of the tuna and glutton"
Avola, city of almond and Nero d'Avola wine, lends itself as an ideal starting point to visit the entire east coast, from Noto capital of the Baroque and UNESCO heritage, to Syracuse also UNESCO heritage, up to Modica, Ragusa, Marzamemi and Capo Passero extreme tip of Sicily. Walking for a few minutes you will be on the center of the town. Nearby the flat is located the Robinson's park where you can find fun area for kids, pizzerias, local cusine restaurants. This area is also famous for the "Tonnara di Avola". Here is possible, early in the morning, to buy fresh fish. That's a spot where in the past, the tuna fishes were caught in the traditional festival named: "Mattanza", that is revoked on the summer time (month: August), on the festival named: "Tuna and glutton festival".
