We were looking for a (very) last minute break and Mark was very helpful arranging this for us. The cottage is huge, there was only 2 of us but we enjoyed the space. The lounge was comfy. The main bedroom overlooking the playing field was roomy and the bed big and comfy as well. We only used the shower in the main bathroom which was hot and powerful. The kitchen has everything you need to make snacks or a full on meal. There is a little courtyard with a bbq, table with 6 chairs and an arbour to sit in to enjoy the sunshine. The cottage is literally a 2 minute walk from the tea shop (fab breakfasts), the Bulls Head pub (very traditional) and the corner shop. The Bulls Head food is well cooked and portions are massive - we had the fish and chips and I'm sure it was a whale instead of cod!!! The corner shop has a small ice cream 'parlor' which we had to try as well. The village is beautiful, it's popular with walkers so over the weekend we did notice it was much more busy. We spent time on the river bank and walking through the village loving the residents gardens!! It's a 10/15 minute drive from Bakewell (very pretty town) and about 15/20 minute drive from Buxton, which is a bigger town and very attractive especially the gardens around the Opera House. All in all I'm glad I found this cottage and the village and if we are looking at staying in this area again I'd stay here again without hesitation.
