Beautiful modern and spacious home for families
We had a lovely stay in this unique home with our extended family. Plenty of space for adults and kids alike to enjoy kayaking, playing in the leaves, exploring outside, and relaxing with beautiful views. A great getaway within driving distance from Minneapolis and Stillwater.

Don’t do it! Even though the host knew we were coming, we were still greeted with dead bugs on the floor and window sills right in the foyer and throughout the house, including the bedrooms. I couldn’t imagine letting my granddaughter crawl on the floor. Additionally concerned if there were bugs in the beds. We didn’t stay. The host wouldn’t return all our money. Ironically, the portion kept was for an extra guest and the cleaning fee. We were fortunate enough to find another short-term rental for our group of 15. That house was gorgeous and the host was phenomenal.

nice but lacking
Overall we enjoyed our stay(9 adults, 3 children). Plenty of space, mostly well stocked with what we needed but lots of things either didn't work well or were not in great shape.

Great place for a family get together
My family (9 adults, 1 teen, and 4 kids), stayed in this pine lake house for a family reunion. It was the perfect location for a big group like that. The kitchen and dining area are large and connected to a main living space so everyone could hang out together. We came in late July and the lake was perfect for swimming and paddling around. Everyone had a great time! One downside was that two rooms upstairs have walls that don't go all the way to the ceiling. Pit some heavy sleepers there and you'll be fine

Awesome place, needs some attention
A very cool house in a private setting. Lots of room to spread out. Really well-stocked. Comfortable beds and bedding. Large open living area with a great kitchen. The decks were great for hanging out. The house itself was great except for some ants and some tech issues. We didn’t know that two of the bedrooms were in a guesthouse, which was kind of musty. Also, the a/c in the main house quit working during our stay. This got fixed, but we had a couple days of discomfort. Our main disappointment is the shore & dock area. Very muddy, unkept and uninviting. The dock was actually under water the whole time. The host did give us a small refund after we complained. We’d stay here again if the water access was improved.

Plenty of space, quiet lake
Enjoyed our stay with nine adults and four kids. This place came stocked with puzzles and games which came in handy with some rain. The TVs and theater room took a good bit of IT know-how, but we got it all rolling and enjoyed a family movie night. Beautiful quiet location for some lake activities. Huge open kitchen space made gathering for meals a highlight.

Great property, but fell a bit short
We were in town for a wedding & the place is unique and comfortable for our large family. The kitchen& dining was big enough for us all. The bedding was comfortable. The home is well stocked with what you need & did not feel like a stuffy rental. Kids liked the media room, but it was hard to figure out. For a rental for this many people, a second fridge & more living room furniture would have been nice. While the place was not dirty, you could see neglect: lots of dead bugs on the windowsills and some stains on the carpet. The Master Bedroom had no window covering. It overlooks one of the decks & the morning light at 5 am is a problem. Numerous blinds did not function. The lighting and TVs were either not working or hard to figure out, even for a tech-savvy family. We booked from Wed to Monday over the Memorial holiday weekend and the dock was not put in until Saturday of our trip, the day of the wedding. So, we paid a bit more to be on a lake so people could fish, and enjoy the water, but were only able to use it one of the five days. On Sunday night the water heater stopped working. We did try resetting it, but an ignition error kept occurring. Since it was Sunday and the next day we were leaving (and it was a holiday) we did not bother the host as we knew it would cost them a lot of money to get a plumber out. The size of the place is great, it just needs a little TLC for the price we paid. I would stay again if they addressed a few items.

Great times at a beautiful home
Our group of family and friends enjoyed a beautiful long weekend. The home was great, as was the autumnal colors, nearby golf courses, and restaurants. We enjoyed our time on the roof top deck, main deck, and by the water. Thanks for sharing the property with us.

The house has multiple levels and plenty of space. The sauna was fabulous but the home theater didn’t function. Kitchen was wonderful and accommodated our big family. The roof top patio ended up being our favorite hang out spot.

Forever memories young and old, Recommended!
We had a blast at this property as a family vacation of 15. Host was great. This property has a lot of great features you don't see in other properties, unique. Beds and baths were very comfortable, was well equipped and great open area for the whole family to be together. The lake provided us kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing, all hours of fun and equipment on site. Loved the the rooftop patio, the deck, theater room and sauna. The guest house has 2 of the rooms. 2 of the rooms in the house don't have walls to the ceiling which you can see in pictures so those 2 not as private as other rooms. The 2 suites were great and then a bedroom near the walk out basement and theater room. We all loved it and would all love to come again, for the size of our family (not all could make it) I think it would be a tight squeeze. We didn't want to leave! Unless you are a snob about a few little things I promise you will love this place.

Great country place
We had a vacation for our extended family, and this home was great for accommodating several different generations. We had sufficient room, and the access to the lake was nice. The home is out in the country, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We ran to Baldwin to pick up items a few times, and it was maybe 15 minutes away. The home itself is also architecturally interesting, and it had some nice amenities.

An ok place
Beautiful location and the lake was gorgeous. The host was quick to respond to questions. However, I was disappointed in the cleanliness. The guest house had a musty odor and the the refrigerator had mold. Not very good for those with allergies. The landscaping had not been taken care of for a while. Not enough paddles to actually use the paddle board. The propane fire pit had no propane. We enjoyed the fishing and those that could kayak enjoyed that. Only 2 kayaks for a house that can have up to 15 guests and one paddle board that had no oar. Disappointing to say the least. Loved the kitchen and had enough beds.

Excellent Stay!!
The place was wonderful for our family of 10 adults and 2 kids. The movie theater was a big hit. Directions were straight forward with pictures, which was helpful. We got snowed in and the hired hand was out shoveling before we were even awake. Dane was super responsive and so was the hired hand. Beds were very comfortable. The only suggestions I shared were some additional cooking utensils and baking sheets would round off the gourmet kitchen. We will be back!!!!! Thanks Dane!

Generally quite good stay, some rough spots
We stayed with a group of 14 for a board gaming cabin weekend, including two children. Let's get the good stuff out of the way first: The property was clean, generally well-maintained, the sauna and movie room were great, and the kitchen worked well for cooking for a lot of people. We really enjoyed the look and feel overall, and there were adequate bathrooms for everyone and space for everyone. We did work out all the problems we had. So, what went wrong? First, the listing is a little deceptive. We missed up front that two of the rooms are open ceiling, though in retrospect the photos showed this. The queen plus two bunks room is open topped, and all noise from downstairs is clearly audible in that room, which kept the kids up. Second, the bed icons are used incorrectly. Not all the rooms and beds are in photos, so we count on bed icons to show number of physical beds in a room. A room with a single queen should have 1 bed icon, not two like this listing has. We had to scramble to deal with this mismatch. Third, the photos show a table downstairs which was not present. W had to go bring in a folding table. Fourth, the side guest house had ants come up from the cracks in the floor and get into our bags. The host did not respond to our exit message mentioning this, so I have no idea if they are dealing with the issue.
