Some of the breakfast staff were a bit cold in their approach to telling us what was on offer for breakfast. The staff behind reception were great, very nice and accommodating. Room was okay, bath tiles could do with a change, was a bit old and dirty. Otherwise everything else was fine.

In desperate need of renovation. Room was out dated and cleanliness was questionable. Lovely staff trying their best under impossible circumstances to keep the guests happy.

Whately Hall Stay during Cropredy 2024
I greatly enjoyed my stay at Whately Hall. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room and the common spaces were clean. The elevator/lift worked. The room was not at all expensive, and the food was top notch -- restaurant quality. It's basically across the street from the town center on High St., within walking distance of the bus center and the train (which is a bit further out). It's also directly across the street from the taxi cab car park.

Cropredy done in comfort.
I arrived to find an historic building, with wood panelling, broad wooden railed staircase & a warm welcome. A very decent evening meal was booked, eaten in a well kept, stepped garden. The service was excellent. I new my stay was going to be enjoyed, & it was. Hopefully back next year for the Cropredy music festival. I will stay at the Hall, if available.

To start with the good points Staff were helpful and Friendly, The bed linen was clean and fresh, the location was perfect. However, the hotel itself was very tired, tape on the carpets covering holes, stains on the carpets in the bedroom and lounge areas, black fungus in the shower making it unusable, corridor doors banging all night due to no cushioning. Whilst we accept to put things right would cost a lot of money some of the fundamentals need to be addressed urgently to make a stay inviting

Really great stay! Comfortable, clean, lovely staff, lovely bar and garden, fantastic location and walkable to everything we wanted. Huge range of places to eat and convenience stores within a few minutes! Staff were so kind and helpful.

Lovely building Comfortable room, bit warm as in loft and window in sitting room would not open to get draft. However fans were provided. Staff were pleasant had to email as not answering phone that day but replied fast and phoned back so very satisfied. Would recommend for a pleasant stay.

I found the staff very helpful , kind and professional. Food was enjoyable and pleasant. Breakfast was a little late start at 07:00 . The hotel is quite old and worn .ripped carpet. on the stairs . room carpet dirty , soap and shower gel both empty ,mould on the bath sealant in the. Again staff very pleasant so comments do NOT reflect on the staff at all.

Seen better days, like the 1900's
Check in was lovely, nice old building but it just went down hill from there. Everywhere was grubby and tired. Not seen a duster, let alone a cleaner. Bed sheets were clean but not much else. TV didn't work, view would have been nice if you didn't have look through a mosaic of grime to see anything. It wasn't even cheap, I would have been offended paying half the price.

Poor value for money. Outdated rooms, mouldy shower curtain and just a general musty smell. Soap and shower gels provided but nearly empty.

Bloodstains and hair in the bathroom. Spiderweb in the corners. Dust on everything. It was like the hotel was abandoned during Covid-19 and nothing has been cleaned or fixed since. Terrible!
