Property was nice, Vacasa Management NOT
Check-in time is 4pm, at 4:25 Vacasa management called to tell me the check in is delayed to 6pm (this interfered with all our evening plans) and there's "nothing we can do about it." I requested a partial refund and to be notified ASAP when the property would be ready. Never received a call back or any communication from Vacasa regarding the issue. Since we were already at the property (condo building), we decided to see if it was ready at 5 and it was. When I called Vacasa back to discuss the issue the agent tried to tell me that "check in times just START at 4, not always right at 4". I was baffled. I personally am a STR host/owner of over 8 years and four properties and I have NEVER told a guest their check in time was variable. I told him thats a lie and my contract states 4p check in. they clearly knew BEFORE that time it wasn't going to be ready but waited until AFTER 4 to tell us then never followed up. It's truly frustrating that large management companies can get away with things like this. I most definitely understand things happen and sometimes housekeeping can get behind (again, been doing this a long time as well) but the way it was handled was unacceptable. To some reading, this may seem like not a big deal. But this is exactly the kind of thing big companies need to address and I'm sure the actual owners of the property would be disappointed to know how it was handled, We will only be renting from small private owners from now on.
