It was clean but the service was poor or non existent. The Bar area had no service at all should just close the area off the restaurant had marginal service but the kitchen took over an hour and half. Don’t plan for an enjoyable time.

Fantastic views of the beautiful bar harbor coast line, less crowded and quiet environment for a more relax atmosphere. We had a great time, though the kitchen close a bit early but 6 mins drive to village you will have plenty of options through the midnight.

Not easily walkable to town
The location of this hotel is perfect if you are looking for a view of a bay surrounded by greenery. It is not if bar harbor main street is your goal. I believe there is a shuttle but for us thankfully it was off season. The resort is beautifully kept, clean ,great restaurant on site and easy to drive to Acadia. We totally enjoyed our stay just sitting in chairs on the property or watching nature from our balcony. We also made the mandatory drive thru Acadia and into town with ease. We stayed in early june. .

Long weekend get away
This is approx. 1.5 miles away from downtown. Wish the shuttle was running as it cost $4.00 an hour to park downtown. Hotel had beautiful grounds. Bed was hard as bricks though.

Heartless Management
Completely awful management, I made a reseravtion through hotels.com, my wife is handicapped and requires a walker, I requested a handicap room and stated that she required a walker. When she checked in she was told there were no handicap rooms available and they said she could have a regular room which she was unable to use due to her handicap. She left and got a handicap room at another hotel. They refused to give us a refund, I understand paying for one night but making us pay for both nights is heartless.

Great location with plenty of views
The hotel is in an amazing location! We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back. The only critique I have is that the hotel layout can be confusing. Only one elevator goes to the basement level but there’s no sign that indicates that. Also, there is a stairway to the pool and hot tub that is visible from many of the rooms so it looks like it’s the exit to the main outside area. However, it’s attached to the restaurant and apparently the staff get annoyed when people use those stairs to get to the outside area. The signage for the staff-approved exit to the outside area should be improved to avoid confusion and tension between guests and staff.

Not a 4 star hotel
This is in no way a 4 star hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant is just ok. The rooms are tired and in serious need of an update. It’s your standard holiday inn. It is close to town which was nice. I think the only reason they give it such a high rating is the view of the harbor. Which we didn’t see because of the fog. But we did enjoy our visit. We would go back.
