The service was excellent! The manager Sandra accommodated storing our large luggage in her office because it would not fit in the storage lockers. [Note: There is a fee for using the lockers.] The hotel is located upstairs in an old historic building. The rooms are spacious, which is nice. The breakfast was excellent! The major limitation to this property is that all the rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator (only a steep winding staircase.) We weren't aware of that until late in the reservation. Still, Sandra helped us carry our luggage upstairs to the room, which we appreciated. Regarding location, the hostal is a block away from a metro station and bus stop.

We arrived early, so appreciated being able to get in room a bit early. Room was nice as stated. Breakfast was wonderful. Steps are small but we did have help. Nice visit.

A very well run charming boutique hotel convenient to the waterfront, Ramblas, and subways. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fresh and adequate. We had a larger room on the street side which was bright by day but can be a bit noisy at night. It should also be noted that you will need to climb 2 flights of stairs to access the property as an elevator is not available. All in all a very nice property and good value if you are visiting Barcelona.

The owner pays attention to all your comfort needs including tooth brushes and toothpaste in the rooms. Her greeting information was excellent communication and her welcome brochure was intriguing. It was nice to stay in the first home of Picasso on his move to Barcelona. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Water coolers for use on every floor and rooftop terrace was an added bonus. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Wonderful breakfast and host in a fabulous historical building with amazing rooftop. We stayed in the smallest room as that was all that was available….they are tiny with no natural light due to the orientation but would stay again:)

Our stay at Porxos Garden was amazing. Communication was excellent, we had a late check in that was so easy, and the property itself was lovely. Our room was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was the nicest we’ve had after traveling Europe for a week- a little something for everyone. We felt very safe inside the room. Our only regret in staying here is that we only were in town for one night. If ever in Barcelona again we would definitely stay here.

We had a wonderful time. The property was very secure and very quaint. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very substantial. I highly recommend this property. However, we opted for a tiny room, but this room had no windows. I would choose the larger room next time.

This is essentially a bed and breakfast/hostal facility that is trying to achieve hotel status with a 3 star rating. Some of the rooms open directly into a communal leisure/ refreshment area, which can be noisy/disruptive, depending on its usage by other residents. There is no reception area, entry is by electronic card, and a winding staircase ( no lift) is the only access to the guest rooms. The hostess/manager is warm and engaging and there are nice touches such as providing ear-plugs in the room and refreshments and light fare in the communal area, as well as relevant books on art and the city and other helpful information. It is not too far from the Barceloneta metro in a safe area close to the marina. There is no TV, but the rooms do have everything else that is to be expected. Overall, despite its attempts to be a 3 star hotel, this is still an above-average hostal, for which a premium is being charged, negatively impacting on the overall rating.

There is only 5 stars available for staff, I would give more if I could. So hospitable !! Hotel is very nicely designed, the bed was firm but very comfortable, specially after a long day of walking. I wish American Hotels took a note from her breakfast setup, so many options. We look forward to returning some day, keep up the great work.

It is tucked away from the busyness of the area, but is in a prime location near the beach. The staff were delightful and accommodating, and really made me feel at home! There is an excellent buffet breakfast included the highest quality, and a very pleasant setting.
