One of the best VRBO experiences
I’ve used vrbo multiple times and this house has to be the absolute best one yet! Even better than the pictures. The hosts are so gracious and friendly. The furnishings and amenities are comfortable and inviting. We had a girls weekend but I’m planning to bring my family back here!

Amazing Mountain Retreat
This house was everything we could have asked for and more. The location was amazing. It was secluded at the foot of the mountains, which made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was quiet and peaceful. It was also centrally located to area attractions, such as, natural bridge, VA safari park, Lynchburg, and the natural bridge caverns. The house was very spacious and extremely well appointed especially the kitchen. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. Having a house of this caliber certainly made our trip much more enjoyable.

A beautiful home in a quiet location
A group of girlfriends and I stayed at this home from 9/30/22-10/2/22. It was the weekend that the remnants of the hurricane hit our area and it was raining non-stop. But that did not damper our stay one bit. The house was perfect for being stuck inside all weekend. It's large, so everyone had ample space to be alone if needed, lounge, dance, play games, etc. The kitchen was by far my favorite part of the home. It is a chef's dream! Everything you think you might need, you'd find there. Even things I don't have in my own home. And that gigantic island in the middle of the kitchen was my favorite place to gather with my friends. Sitting on the patio or the deck, soaking in the tubs, or staring out at the mountains (or cows!!!) off the deck was just so serene. I did explore some of the grounds while wearing rain boots and a poncho and it's just beautiful. I highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed.

Unplugged Get Away to the Mountains
This property is clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable and in an absolutely gorgeous area of Bedford County, Virginia. Sipping morning coffee on the front porch, while listening to the sounds of birds was nothing less than heavenly. If allowed, I would award this property more than 5 stars.

Great ... until something goes wrong
Nicely renovated 18th century farmhouse in a great rural location. Spacious and airy with lots of windows and a rooftop deck. Kitchen well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, with new appliances. Lots of couches and chairs and a big dining table. We contended with an increasingly strong foul odor throughout the weekend we were there, apparently coming from a taped-up refrigerator in the entryway mud room. It was noticeable at the dining table adjacent to the mud room and we could not find air fresheners or candles to mitigate the smell. I attempted to contact the owner (through the "We're always here for you ... 24/7" customer service I paid for) but did not get a response until we had returned home. A disappointing downside to an otherwise enjoyable weekend away.

So Amazing !
I have never used the word amazing so many times ! From the minute you pull up to the farmhouse and walk up to the front door it’s already amazing . Once you step inside it’s just a beautiful view to take in . Everything is clean and perfect . Loved the welcome basket of treats and loved the book of information about the house , restaurants , hiking and other attractions . The field in the back and watching the cows ! The upstairs deck - amazing ! The company that handles the renting - made everything easy and totally stress free ! Will definitely tell others about this house and hope someday to return . A most peaceful place to be !

Dream stay for hikers, bikers, kayakers, and chefs
This beautiful property sits at the foot of Terrapin Mountain. Avid hikers can walk out the door and walk to the trailhead. (Be forewarned: it is a serious hike!) Any anyone can enjoy Terrapin views from the deck, living room, or kitchen. Speaking of kitchen, this house is a chef's dream. It wasn't just well-stocked; it is better outfitted than our home kitchen - and we love to cook! We brought our ingredients so that we didn't have to find a grocery store - and feasted. This home is 5 miles from the lowest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway, where it crosses the James river. I didn't look for drop-in points for kayaks since we didn't have ours with us, but imagine that there must be nearby locations. We'll plan to kayak next time we come back. The nearby hiking is excellent. Otter Creek Trail (at the James River crossing) is short, easy, and beautiful. Thunder Ridge (a few miles south on the Parkway) is moderate, and offers great views at the trail head and from Apple Orchard Mountain. Speaking of Apple Orchard Mountain, it is the highest point on the Parkway - which means that cyclists can do the 12 mile ascent from the lowest point on the Parkway to the highest point - and then descend again. The road is beautiful, and there are many vistas along the way: highly recommended. A few final comments on the house: It is well-designed for rest and retreat. The ONLY television in the house is upstairs facing a love seat. The beautiful dining table can comfortably seat 12. The living room is bathed in light by floor-to-ceiling windows - perfect for reading. The kitchen is open, inviting, and also bathed in light by counter-to-ceiling windows. The rooftop deck has beautiful views of Terrapin Mountain. Why would anyone want to sit in front of a screen when surrounded by this beauty? My hat is off to the designer/decorator.

Beautiful
We really enjoyed our stay on the farm. It was beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you need and more. The pictures are exactly as the property is. Lovely. Lots of things to do ion the surrounding towns if you don’t mind a 20-30 minute country drive. The cows on the property were fun to watch. The top deck was a great place to catch a glimpse of the milky way and abundant stars. We’ll be back for future stays to enjoy with more family.

A magnificent stay
We had a fantastic time at Terrapin Mountain! We felt like we were living in a photo shoot for an magazine. Bright, light and cheerful. The huge kitchen had many thoughtful extras, from the soda stream to the well stocked chef tools. Every window beautifully framed the stunning flowers or mountains. We enjoyed the second floor deck overlooking the pastoral scene, both day and night, as the stars were so clear and bright. The happy cows even had adorable calfs that frolicked and played. The two bathrooms were luxurious, and both had stand alone soaking tubs, as well as elegant showers. The sheets were so soft, and the bed itself was perfect. The WiFi was sufficient to run our predownloaded Netflix shows. This house was so lovingly remodeled. The blend of old and new was harmonious. While there were only two of us this trip, this house could handle a larger group easily. This is a rural area, so we would encourage you to plan your meals more than you would elsewhere, as it is a bit of a trek to a grocery store. The hosts were terrific too. They were very responsive when an issue came up, and fixed it with great speed and care. We were very impressed. We look forward to returning with friends soon!
