Great staff, but…
The staff at this hotel are absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately, I stayed for three nights and management doesn’t think that’s enough to qualify for fresh towels or garbage removal or any other service in your room… I could have requested extra service. I really just kind of like to keep to myself and I don’t like to go begging for assistance. I think it’s pretty unreasonable for a hotel to not give you any kind of Room service for a three night stay The cheapness of management also shows in other ways like one of the three elevators is shut down completely, and some guests got trapped in one of the two functional ones while I was there. If the great staff worked at a better funded facility, they would really have something magical going on, but alas.

We had a great time during our stay in hotel halifax. We stayed during Skate canada 2024 event from Oct.23~28th and Scotiabank center and hotel halifax was super close and 5mins walking distance and hotel and shopping mall are connected by just one door, very convient to go for Skating events at Scotiabank center through mall! Next time if there is any events in Halifax, I will for sure stay at Hotel halifax! Staff are very friendly and kind, has inside restaurant for breakfast, pool and gym was in good condition. It's old hotel but in general everything was pretty good. I highly recommend hotel halifax if you are planning to stay in downtown halifax.

Consider it does not includes microwave in case you want to bring any food to warm, and it does not includes parking so you have to pay $26 per night taxes, other than that I liked my stayed and might come back in the future, great friendly staff

Checked in for 2 rooms (seperate credit cards) Felt very rushed by counter staff (Cathy). 1st room being check in by Tim ( cannot say enough about Tim, he was great). We wanted to all check in one after the other as we were travelling together… one car. Cathy rushed us over to her saying, if it’s on 2 credit cards, come over here. Put the parking on both bills, only had one car. The two rooms were very far apart. 605 and 127… mind you one room was 2 beds and the other room was one king bed. We didn’t get the chance to choose where we wanted…. Cathy did not supply us with any information regarding the pool, where, what time it was open. No imformation regarding the ice machines and their location. Just felt very rushed along. Tim was the go to guy for us and our fellow travellers. Very helpful and wonderful. Work was being done above 605, quite loud at times. Work was being done a few rooms over from 127. Also quite loud at times. Quiet during the night and comfortable sleep Bathroom in 605 (grout was moldy) Tap in bathroom (127) wouldn’t stay on.
