Refurbished cottage along Dunnings Creek, close to Rt 30, I-99 and PA Turnpike

In its prior life, our cottage was a local dance pavilion, with a train running past several times a week. The railroad tracks have since been removed and grown over and the pavilion, transformed into a lovely cottage for your stay.
Dunnings Creek runs right along our property, so you can enjoy a day of fishing or kayaking! ( we hope to be able to offer kayaks soon). Later in the summer, the water is warm enough to play in. We often have bald Eagle sightings, deer leaping through the yard, as well as other wildlife.
Some local sights and attractions include Flight 93 National Memorial, Shawnee State Park, Raystown Lake, Old Bedford Village, Jean Bonnet Tavern, Bedford Springs, Lincoln Caverns, and numerous Covered Bridges. Most weekends over the summer, Bedford Fairgrounds plays host to various car races. Summer also brings the Farmerā€™s Market to the town square on Wednesdays.
Come spend the weekend or the whole week! Relax, unwind, and let your worries melt away. Have a meal (or 2) on the screened in porch, hang out by the fire pit and make a sā€™more or sit along the creek bank and enjoy the view.
Mobility Issues*** There is 1 step up into the kitchen/ dining area and 1 step down into the bathroom, if you have mobility issues, please be aware of this. There are also 3 steps up onto the porch to gain access to the cottage.
The cottage is approximately 4 miles from the PA Turnpike, Route 30 and I-99, we also welcome guests that are just ā€œtraveling throughā€ for a night.
Cottage was just redone and offers a fully stocked kitchen, a decent selection of DVDs and some board games. Thereā€™s a grill to throw your burgers or steaks on as well!

Facility was clean. It is an older building but fairly well maintained. The owner lives only a few feet away. Very quiet neighborhood, which was want we wanted. Having the creek and the fire pit nearby was very nice. However, the junked cars on the neighbor's property do not add to the ambiance.

A cozy cottage and quiet spot in the country
We were initially surprised that the cottage was so close to the owner's house, but it really was not a problem. The cottage and porch were immaculately clean, and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were even snacks and cold drinks awaiting us! The beds were comfortable and there were fans in both bedrooms to supplement the A/C. There were LOTs of towels in both the kitchen & bathroom. The 2 steps in the cottage are slightly higher than standard and it takes a while to get used to them, By our 2nd day there we were more comfortable with them. We thoroughly enjoyed mornings and evenings on the screened porch. The view to the creek was very peaceful and the grounds were extremely well maintained. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

The hosts were super kind and helpful. The cottage had great beds and linens, cute decorations, a stocked kitchen, great shower pressure, and much more. It was a quiet & peaceful property. We especially loved the farm animals nearby and beautiful, country fields. It was a great stay to enjoy the festival.

Cozy Country Cottage
Comfy and clean cottage. Melissa was a great host. She was available if we had questions or needed anything. The decor is welcoming and quaint. We loved the screened porch and big yard leading to the creek. Beds were super comfy! One item to note- the shower wouldnā€™t be ideal for a taller person. It was fine for my daughter and I though. I would love to come back here in the summer to enjoy the creek and fire pit.

My husband, daughter and myself spent just one night in Melissa's cottage. She was most helpful through the whole process. The cottage is very nicely appointed. We did not use the firepit but wish we had had more time to do so. Also would have loved to be able to wade in the creek behind the cottage.

Owners are on property and were very attentive to our needs. The cottage was clean and well stocked. Perfect to get away and relax in nature. May not be good fit if looking for things to do off site or those with disabilities. We enjoyed our stay, campfire fire and peaceful surroundings.

2022 Memorial Day weekend Trip
This place was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Also very nicely decorated! The owners are very attentive and personable. It was stocked with everything you would need. Especially if your husband forgot to put the last bag (with soap, tp, paper towels, etc.) into the car before you left your house! So thank you:). There is so much to do! We played cards on the screened porch and watched the sunset from the dock in the creek. We visited downtown Bedford for some shopping and grabbed some sandwiches at Nicks (very good!). Shawnee Lake is 20 minutes away and we hiked the Shore Trail. It is a beautiful place! We visited the Flight 93 memorial which was an emotional and amazing experience. We continued on into Somerset County and found Jake's miniature golf course. It was a very fun and relaxing weekend! Thank you so much! The Kochs Robesonia, PA

Just what we needed.
This was such a great experience. My family needed a short break from life in DC and we couldnā€™t have chosen a better spot. Everything was so comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything BLUE! Which is my favorite color! We didnā€™t get a chance to do much outside of the cottage due to the weather but it was definitely pleasant regardless. My kids loved being there so much they want to go back to the ā€˜New Houseā€™ (words from my 2 year old) lol. If Melissa would have us, we will definitely be staying again. I think we found our getaway spot!

A great space for our toddler to traverse and area to play. Access to the fire pit and creek. Horses & farm animals up the lane and the start of fall colors. Canā€™t go wrong here! Lucky to have shared the space.

Quiet and relaxing
It's a small, quaint, and quiet place that was perfect for my wife and I to get away for a little bit. The screened in porch and sitting area were great for reading and chatting. The kitchen table was perfect for some of the games we brought (and they had a good selection on site). I like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped for that. We didn't venture out much, but the cottage is close to Bedford area attractions.
