Set in the grounds of the May Day insane asylum, this lovely hotel and its attentive, hard working staff was a great place to stay. The restaurant and bar area were great, the hotel has a warm cozy feel, the rural views and the tour of the old asylum were a bonus and the gorgeous grounds made for a peaceful visit. We will be back.

Grand Oak is in a fantastic location , it is very quiet ( great for a good nigts sleep) , plenty of parking, the restaurant and bar is great and the barman is excellent . The pool is just adequate, could be better with greenery , some plants around and some lounge chairs, other than that we had a great stay, we can recommend this resort/ hotel

Beautiful setting and tidy cute rooms. Close to the centre by short car ride, lovely outdoor deck to enjoy a coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the afternoon.

The staff were very friendly and the property as a whole was very good. The restaurant is quite good for breakfast and dinner. I was not very happy with the room, as it showed me a king room when I booked but got a smaller room. but that may be because of the booking platform issue. otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

Upon arrival the male staff member that did our check in was excellent. However, when needing help to store our bikes in the storage facility provided. The female staff member ( Simone) was extremely rude to stay least. We felt like an inconvenience and not welcomed at all. Otherwise, good place to stay. We will think twice in our booking next time. visited for wedding at venue. Convenient location with good restaurant on site . Lovely garden surrounds short drive to town centre. Double room was on the small side as was the bed but it was ok for our short stay.
