About this property

Glamping in the magical forest of Elfendahl.

Welcome to Elfendahl Forest, a magical retreat hidden deep in the forest just a stone's throw from the majestic Hood Canal. Please take a moment to peruse our complete description and browse our stunning pictures before reserving to fully appreciate the unique experience that awaits you.
Our beloved Lotus tent has been a top pick among our returning guests, and it's easy to see why. Tucked away in its own private corner of the enchanting forest, this luxurious tent offers a king size bed, fully equipped kitchenette, a convenient composting toilet, and a private fire pit with complimentary wood for your enjoyment. Immerse yourself in the magic of Elfendahl Forest and indulge in the ultimate glamping experience with our treasured Lotus tent.

Our off-grid homesteading destination is dedicated to sustainable living and the environment. We've spent the last three years cultivating 20 beautifully forested acres into a destination that will inspire you to return time and time again to see the progress we've made.

At Elfendahl Forest, you'll have the chance to unplug from the electronic hustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the fairytale surroundings that make this destination so special. Explore hundreds of acres of state lands with trails and roads that are perfect for adventure. State parks, the Hood Canal, and fresh water lakes are just minutes away and offer opportunities for fishing, kayaking, swimming, and more. And when you're ready to unwind, enjoy outdoor games like bocce ball, corn hole, kids play area and more.

Our vegetable gardens, outdoor kitchen, composting toilet, shower, and community fire pit are at your disposal. Join us for movie nights during the summer in our unique outdoor theater, and feel free to get involved and learn something new with one or more of our many ongoing projects and workshops.

Our unique staff and community kitchen is equipped with a propane stove/oven, dishes, and utensils for your convenience, and we have some vegetables and herbs in our gardens to share. The private outdoor shower boasts on-demand hot water that you can adjust to your preference. And don't be fooled by our famous composting toilet; it's much cleaner and more comfortable than a traditional porta potty (without the blue chemicals) while helping us save hundreds of gallons of water each week.

If you rent one of our Lotus tents or the Wander bus, you'll have access to your own private toilet.
We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible, so please don't hesitate to let us know how we can make that happen. Thank you for considering Elfendahl Forest as your next destination.

Guest access:
At Elfendahl Forest, we invite you to explore most of our 20 acres of beautiful forested land, as well as the hundreds of acres of surrounding state land. However, we do advise guests to stay on designated trails as it can be easy to become disoriented in the forest. Additionally, we remind guests that Washington forests are home to a variety of wildlife, some of which may be potentially dangerous, so it's important to exercise caution and respect their habitat. With that said, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Elfendahl Forest and all it has to offer.
-Please note:
There is a 20$ pet charge.

Deep in the forest
Beautiful forest with tents and a converted bus, children's play area including a kid's zip line and fairy wings. We enjoyed walking a short path to the garden area-you can walk the loop or avoid hills by walking the level part--and loved how peaceful it was. The outdoor kitchen has spices, coffee and coffee presses, and even sometimes fresh eggs from their chickens. Bring a battery pack for your cell phone, maybe a flashlight (Gary was kind enough to loan us a light) and stuff to cook over the fire or on a camp stove. Oh, and a towel, I forgot a towel for the neat off grid shower with camp water heater-sometimes I was just amazed by all the cool solar/camping/art stuff around. The dogs are sweet and patient and happy to accept all the petting. I slept better than I have all year, wish I had more time off!
