I recently stayed at Hotel Berlin Berlin while attending a conference in the city and, unfortunately, my experience fell short of what Iā€™d expect from a 4-star hotel. To start with the positives, the hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for exploring Berlin or attending nearby events. The rooms were nice and clean, and it was clear the staff did their best, working hard to help despite being very short-staffed. However, there were several major issues that affected my stay. The customer service was disappointing, primarily due to an obvious lack of staffing. The hotel relies heavily on an automated check-in desk, which, for most guests, simply did not work. This failure meant that the limited staff on-site had to process the majority of check-ins manually, causing long delays. My own check-in was well over an hour later than expected, which was a frustrating start to my stay. I encountered a similar issue at check-out, and due to the long wait and continued technical issues, I eventually left without properly checking out. While the hotel offers 4-star facilities, the service and experience were closer to 2-3 stars. For the price, there are certainly better options in Berlin that offer a much more reliable and polished experience.

I will choose the same hotel if I visit Berlin again. The location is very convenient with bus stop right next to it and subway station in walking distance. Taxi waits in front of the hotel. Open buffet breakfast was delicious and had good variety for different tastes (children/adults). We found our room clean everyday we came back from our sightseeing trips. So thank you.

Gorgeous hotel. We booked a Premium room on the 4th floor with a City View. It was quite large, clean, nice bathroom, shower worked perfectly fine. 3 chairs and a table, plus more, a couch and an extra large bed Theres a coffee maker and a fridge in the room, which is magnificent. Self Check-in was easy and the bus stop is a minute walk across the street with easy access to numerous bus lines. The Hop on Hop off Buses also pass by that stop which is perfect Its a nice quite place, friendly and helpful staff and the restaurant serves some amazing food, and theres loads of chairs in the communal areas, next to the restaurant, to just sit and relax if you dont want to sit in the hotel Only downside is the wifi was a bit erratic and needs ri be improved. I highly recommend and on my next visit i will definitely book there again

Changed room because there was dried vomit on the floor next to the bed. Then was moved to another room where the elevator was so noisy that we could not even fall asleep. Tried to turn on the tvā€¦ also didn't work. So there wasn't even a way to drown out the awful loud creaking noise of the elevator. That was in use ALL NIGHT.

Berlin Hotel is pleasant despite its industrial size. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Nespresso machine and kettle were great to have. The coffee capsules supplied are biodegradable and of good quality. The staff are very kind and helpful. The gym is well-equipped, and the sauna facilities are of good quality. There is a good selection of restaurants nearby. The location is near the Zoological Garden, which is convenient for sightseeing and has direct transport links to Brandenburg Airport and the Hauptbahnhof.

Good location for the marathon. We had a suite so plenty of room and well organised food for the marathon weekend - early breakfast and a pasta dinner was put on. The downsides were the self check in - created more issues than it solved and the air con in the rooms was off so they were too warm. Otherwise would recommend

Firstly, despite being eligible for early check-in, I was told upon arrival that I should have contacted the hotel in advance to request it and that there was nothing the staff could do at the stage I arrived (only one hour prior to the check-in time of 3 pm). The automated check-in wasnā€™t intuitive/user-friendly and, when I could finally check in, the system assigned me a room already occupied (luggage, personal effects, and a pretty bad smell already in the room). I was told to go to ā€œcustomer serviceā€ to request another room. Customer service said the person in the room I had been assigned was ā€œafraid of heightsā€ and asked to be moved to another room but she wasnā€™t fast enough to move, which is why I found her belongings still there. I was told I could occupy the room after she left, which left me appalled, as the room had already been used and the hotel was about to assign it to me without any further cleaning. Eventually, I was given another room in a remote side of the hotel, including through a flight of stairs for which an elevator wasnā€™t accessible, and with terrible illumination, view, layout and constant noise. Super disappointingā€¦ hard to believe this was a 4-star hotel.

We were made to feel valued and wanted. They thoughtfully left a birthday cake for my mother to find when she arrived in her room. Beds are very comfortable and the hotel is within easy reach of numerous transport points. It's a huge hotel with over 700 rooms, yet it never feels crowded. The gym and sauna offer a great way to start and end the day too.
