This is not a 5-star property, nor does it pretend to be. But for the price, it’s great value for money. The room was quite spacious and had a bathroom with a toilet and shower. We found the room to be a bit hot and stuffy at first which was quickly remedied by opening the window and running a fan (we always carry a small portable fan of our own).
Upon arrival, we found clean towels waiting for us and we were quickly provided with an extra set of towels upon request. The shower cubicle has a plastic curtain which was not very effective and so we ended up with a fairly wet floor, but that was not a major issue. The important thing is there was plenty of hot water with good pressure. There was no exhaust fan, so the bathroom became quite steamy (which my wife quite likes).
For breakfast there’s a communal kitchen with eggs, cereal, milk, bread, and orange juice, along with a large fridge in which guests can store their own stuff. (Note there’s also a small fridge and microwave in the bedroom.) A dining room with tables and chairs is adjacent to the kitchen and provides a comfortable place to eat meals. There’s also an outdoor sheltered nook that’s for smokers to use.
They provide free off-street parking for 5 cars in a well-lit area that seemed quite safe. It’s only about 20 minutes to drive to the centre of Birmingham which is quite convenient. The owners of the property live next door and were always very responsive and helpful when I needed to ask questions.
