Great spot!
We stayed at this property for one night with a group friends to celebrate a birthday. It was conveniently located to bars and restaurants and provided the perfect place for our gathering. Charles was very responsive and great to work with.

Wonderful home!
We loved our stay at the Wilson Historic Home. It is absolutely beautiful and we found that we preferred to spend most of our time staying in and enjoying the home rather than go out and explore. We were a little nervous about the surrounding area but also realized we are from a small, rural town and were staying in a big city. We could hear entertainment from nearby restaurants and bars (as was mentioned in previous reviews); however, there must be a mouse curfew because all got quiet around 10 or 11 at night, so was never a bother. The front room is noisy as it's parallel to the street, but that family member just moved to the bed off the living room and had the best sleep. We all highly recommend this home. Happy travels!

Not What I Expected
I wanted a nice, quiet house to at which to spend Xmas. The Wilson House seems to be a good match but: 1. This is NOT a Quiet Neighborhood. 5th Avenue is a main thoroughfare for Emergency Vehicles (Fire Truck and Ambulances came through an average of 4 times a day). Additionally, the Bar District is within a block of the house and I could hear the crowds until early in the morning. The windows are single pain and we heard everthing (especially the front bedroom). Bar Patrons used the parking spaces on 5th Avenue for their forays to the Bars loudly rambling back at the wee hours in the morning. Finally, the neighboring property within 5 - 10 yards from the Wilson House is undergoing major Renovations. Worker started at sun up (~ 0715) with hammering, loud banging and music blasting out of the open windows. Quiet Hours from 11pm to 8 am. That was a farce. Bars Crowds and Renovations could not be controlled directly. However, IF HAD KNOWN THIS AHEAD OF TIME I WOULD HAVE PASSED ON THIS HOUSE. The Wilson House owner informed me that he communicated my concerns to his neighbor and he thought they had agreement, but I didn’t experience peace at this house. Bottom Line: BE Transparent in your listings! 2. The listed shows 3 bed rooms, however It is 2 bed rooms with a Den with a Hide Away bed. 3. "Plenty parking on the Street” until bar patrons show up at 6pm 4. Finally the back yard had large ant hills On rainy days the ants came inside (sink, front bedroom)

Hawkins Stay
This was a great experience. It was our first time using VRBO and staying in this type of accommodation. The Home was very clean. It was super accommodating to our dog. Had doggy doors and food bowls already. We really enjoyed our stay!. The owner was also very helpful and always responded immediatly if we had questions. I would highly recommend this house and also return.

Accommodations were great. Charles was easy to get a hold of and check-in was easy. Location has a lot of good restaurants, a nice coffee shop two blocks away, and is close to a few bars if you're looking for some night life.
