Space was good, but needs updating
The space was nice but the but many things not working or broken. For the price we paid between fees etc, I wouldn’t stay again. We had to replace a toilette seat, the grill was not working , the listing said wood was provided (there was none). We had to fix the pool cues in order the play and the hot tub was low on water. The kitchen also was not well stocked. We purchased paper towels and sponges along with plastic wrap, bags and foil. There was also one roll of tp in each bathroom. Again, good space but not well kept.

Overall the house was just as described. Our stay was ok but it could have been much better if our contact person had responded sooner to our concerns. The house was adequate for our needs but when we arrived the house looked like it had been neglected on the exterior. Inside was ok ....light bulbs needed but that is an easy fix. And bring your own broom because they do not have one . That was a first. Never been in a house without a broom. Most VRBO homes we stayed in have a notebook with a list of restaurants, hikes , etc. a guide to the area. This did not. Also homes we have stayed in before have a traveler journal for guests to sign and tell what they enjoyed about the house. This did not. The deck is expansive and wonderful and also the wrap around porch, Unfortunately this area was dirty and unkempt. We were told that the deck had been pressured wash...it did not look like it had at all. The deck was covered with old leaves , cigarette butts and a orange cone and noodle were thrown to the side. The firepit had not been cleaned out and the grill was in horrible shape. If we had had a broom we would have cleaned it ourselves but after trying to get up with the contact host all day they finally came with a blower and blew the deck off. I felt like we were an inconvenience to the contact host and I got very frustrated about not hearing when they might come to clean off the deck. the second contact number worked . I hope they cleaned the deck for the next guest.

Florida Family and Friends Get-away
Overall we all had a wonderful time, it was exactly what we needed; downtime to have great conversations and close enough to attractions for activities (HawksNest Tubing, Sugar MTN Skiing/Snowboarding, and Grandfather Mtn, but it was closed due to weather conditions. The cabin is clean and comfortable. Comfortable beds and enough bedding to keep ya warm. There are several stains on the carpets, maybe because it is pet friendly. A good mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dawn will get those stains right out. The garage billard/bedroom is a great place to play pool and make memories. Suggestions: 1. When searching for properties to rent we searched for properties that did NOT require 4*4 or AWD to get to. We are Florida people. This property definitely required AWD to reach with winter weather. We had to purchase snow chains and were able to get to the cabin, but with kids crying thinking we were all going to die sliding off the MTN, it makes for a funny story now. 2. The supplies like Toilet paper and paper towels were not enough for 10 people for 5 days. We purchased more and maybe that is what is expected, and if so should be stated. OR perhaps since there was a winter storm prior to our arrival they were not able to get up there to add to supply. The property manager Ricky was super nice and answered my call the first time it rang. He happily discussed any questions I had. We will definitely return to Fox Wood.

Great house perfect for a large group
We had a great time at this house! Very spacious and it had everything we needed. The area is absolutely beautiful and the deck and games room was fantastic. Hosts were very responsive. I hope we will be back again soon!

Beautiful Cabin
Cabin was nice and in a good location. Upstairs game room had not been vacuumed; there was popcorn & small pieces of trash on the floor. The main house was very clean. The game room is also upstairs in the detached garage so it didn't work for the children to go play by themselves as it would have in the main house. Also, one of the three upstairs bedrooms only has a curtain and no door. And one of the bathrooms is in the game room which leaves one bathroom upstairs for the three bedrooms.. Both king size bedrooms have large closets. Two of our kids slept in the very large closet in the upstairs bedroom. The large deck and porches were nice after we swept the spider webs and leaves the first day. It took a couple of days to get in touch with the owners but they did allow us to bring a dog at the last minute.

Quick Getaway
When we arrived, we were pleased with the accommodations, however, throughout our stay we found the outdoor atmosphere could have been kept up better. Lots of debris, spiderwebs and unkept furniture left the prime outdoor living space a little lack luster. An old rug/mat that was dirty, rolled up and unfit to step on barefoot was the rug to enter and exit the hot tube. We did enjoy the hot tub the first night, it was clean and spacious, however, we came across some mechanical issues the next morning, that unfortunately resulted in the hot tub to be out of order the remainder of the trip and no immediate action was made by the home owners to fix the device during our stay. We also weren’t prepared for a bedroom and the pool table to be in a detached building. What was going to be a fun hangout became more of a hassle and too far away from the adults for the kids to play or stay. I don’t feel we will return to this cabin again, despite it’s quirkiness and charm on the inside.

Beautiful stay in the Mountains
We had a beautiful stay in the mountains. The area was outstanding and the house had a lot to offer. I loved that everything to do was in close vacuity but the house felt very private and quietly tucked away. Since it is pet friendly the carpets were stained, luckily no smell. Of you are bringing pets though, it does not have a fenced in area to let them out in. The appliances were updated and nice to use and the beds were very comfortable. We did have a small issue with during the stay and the local property manager that we were told to contact never answered or got back to us. Luckily it was not a big issue but a tad irritating. Overall the stay was nice! All i can say though is bring extra towels if you use more than 1 towel during your shower time.

Great Mountain Getaway
My family and friends had a wonderful stay. The house easily accommodated 3 families with children, and our tweens loved the game room. The kitchen was well equipped, as well as the bathrooms with towels and basic toiletries. The home is close to both Sugar and Beech Mountains, perfect for a ski weekend!

This property was not what we wished for. They show the game room with pool and shuffleboard, but no sand on shuffleboard means it useless. Hot Tub was not usable. Contacted host and he said he had found out night before that it didn’t work. He should have called us and let us know. House was not clean, many spots on carpet form pets and pet urine odor throughout. Offer maker still full of grounds from previous tenent. Our previous visits to properties like this included soaps and shampoos, here nothing. We would not rent a Evolve property in future.

Comfortable and Cozy Home in the Mountains
Enjoyed this home. Location was perfect. It is located 15-30 minutes from all the towns you may want to explore. The decks and porches were lovely. Interior of the home was very clean. The exterior areas were clean but could use a little loving care. Comfortable rocking chairs outside. New hot tub. Plenty of towels. All the essentials necessary in the kitchen for family dinners. The game room is over the garage. It has a high loft w a twin mattress. Not really suitable for an adult. A teenager would love it! The third bedroom upstairs does not have a door, only curtains for privacy. Overall, the house was awesome and we would definitely rent it again.

A wonderful get away

We had an amazing time in this home! Plenty of room for all 12 of us!!!!! Everyone loved the hot tub, game room, large family areas, and outdoor fire pit and deck space!!! Will definitely want come back again!!!

We had a very enjoyable long weekend at this cabin. It is very nice and well stocked however the cleaning crew is not doing the best job. One thing I didn’t realize is that the room with pool table is over the garage and separated from the main house. This may be Great for kids and teens but we were all adults and the futon and climb up loft twin was not a good fit for our group. Good location.

Everything was very clean when we checked in. We were there celebrating our daughter's 16 birthday with family. The kids all had fun in the game room and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely recommend this house for family events.

Long weekend escape
This house is convenient to Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Boone and Blowing Rock. The owner worked to get the internet up and running and answered questions quickly. The hot tub and fire place outside made for a wonderful evening retreat. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room to spare. The kitchen was very well stocked. In short we had a great time and would absolutely stay again.

There were 6 adults in our group and the home was able to comfortably accommodate us. It is a lovely log home with all the amenities to make our visit feel like we were at home. The front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing were a big hit with our group. A storm knocked out the power shortly after our arrival. I contacted the owner and he was very helpful in getting the power company out to make a repair and get the power back on. His property manager drove an hour in the storm to get flashlights and candles to us. We really appreciated the owner and property manager responsiveness, especially since it was so late in the evening. We had such a good time, we didn't even want to leave the property!

Beautiful large well cared for home! Loved pool table hot tub and firepit. Great for teens!
Easy Renting that offered clean well stocked house for varied ages. Cute loft bed by game room. Top line cookware and appliances. Loved the outdoor furniture. Hot tub excellent! Lots memories made with teenagers! Close to everything 15-20 min. Kids loved otter falls . Gravel driveway would be tricky in winter. The only negative was the cleaning fee which was steep for Just two nights. Hope to come back one day!
