Comfortable stay!
The pre-arrival communication was very good. I arrived late but they sent me a very detailed step-by-step process to check-in without staff. It was very helpful and easy. The room and building is a bit dated but it was clean and I really appreciated all the amenities of the room, like a full kitchen, which was so handy. The location is alright, bit of a walk into the city but there are some restaurants and stores very close by.

A recommander

Four inexpensive days in lovely Bordeaux.
Bordeaux is fantastic and we wanted an economy hotel near enough to the centre. We had stayed with this hotel group in Bagneux, Paris, and hotel there was very good. This hotel is older, lady on reception was very helpful but hotel is not of same standard as in Paris and reception is not manned in the evenings or Saturday afternoon. We basically just wanted a clean room for sleeping and making drinks and breakfast and this 2 star hotel served this purpose. Half of the building is student accommodation, half hotel. That caused no problems. Bed was comfortable, tv worked. Kitchen area was very small and we wouldn't have wanted to cook a meal in such a small space. Fine for breakfast of cereals and baguette - fridge there for the butter and milk we bought. The shower room was clean but somewhat challenging. We are both slim so just about fitted in the shower but no space to put much. Shower head was very loose on the wall. Free wifi whole stay. It is a student area, outside the main tourist accommodation area but only a 10 minute walk to a lively market at Capucin - lots of atmosphere, cafes etc. Small Carrefour very close to hotel. City centre is 15 min walk away, main railway station is the same distance - but opposite direction. We flew in and got the airport bus (very frequent) which goes to main railway station, stops at Capucin, 10 min walk to hotel. It served our purpose well as we wanted to spend our time in the centre and to eat out. All achieved.

Good facilities in apartment. Not ideal location
The apartment was in good condition. I enjoyed the facilities and being able to cook for myself. However,it was a long walk to get anywhere and further from the train station than I thought. I was happy there was a local market to buy food.

Good value on the edge of town
Great room size but a bit of a walk to the central area! There wasn't much to do around the apartment which was a bit dissapointing. The hotel employees were very accommodating and helpful. Be aware of using the bike service here as they ripped my boyfriend and I off.

Great and quiet location
I like the hotel and location and the fact that it has a small kitchen. only thing is that as there is no cleaning during the stay, would be great to have spunge and washing up liqued and cleaning cloth in the room so you don't have to buy everything basically.

This hotel was satisfactory for our purposes.
As we were visiting family, the hotel was close to their apartment. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was adequate and we were very happy on the whole.

Out of town, not a good area!
This place was far from the city centre, although easy bus trip in. In dodgy neighbourhood... Literally had a fight break out in front of us once while walking back. No Wifi made it hard for us to plan our stay and the staff were useless, when we asked how to get into the city they told us to walk, we later worked out that the bus stop was right outside!

Clean, Adequate, Nothing Fancy
The hotel is difficult to find, regardless a lack of French in a new setting. Upon arrival the front door was locked. The email explaining how to gain entrance if the office is closed arrived too late. A guest let me, I told my circumstances, she went off and returned with my key and "welcome" letter. What if she hadn't appeared? Not a good start made worse by a broken bottle in the elevator and the back security door wouldn't lock (it was repaired by morning). The room was clean and comfortable with adequate utensils for cooking. No English TV. The shower drained slowly, a ring around its base not washed by room service, who otherwise cleaned the room well. In the morning registration was open; the receptionists were helpful with broken English. I got a remote for the rear locked parking lot. The neighborhood is a bit run-down but safe. A university is three blocks away; the students at day and the "regulars" at bars to the main street gave a sense of an active community, albeit with some boarded up buildings. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to a bus station, 5 minute walk to a plaza, leading to the center of town.Be certain of the dates reserved. I had to make a 10 hour round-trip drive to Spain, when my daughter's vacation dates unavoidably changed. No refund for a change in dates. Consideration for unavoidable situations would make the hotel more accommodating, my stay less expensive. Otherwise a decent budget hotel.

Great value and comfortable
Good clean and convenient with a kitchennet. Easy access by tram and bus. Convenient with a small supermarket and a wonderful market Marche des Capucins is about 10min walk, left turn from the hotel entrance. Must recommand the wonderful North African cuisine behind the market and next to St Michel church! Most things were provided with the room: towels, standard toiletries and even slippers! Kitchennet came with sauce pans etc and crockery. And dishwashing liquid! Very thoughtful. Staff were friendly and helpful - but do practice a bit of French before you arrive because some staff are less confident in their English. We read other guests reviews before choosing this hotel and we agreed with most of them. All in all it was a very pleasant stay. Only graded 4 because (1) no wifi (2) no air-condition which can be very hot and stuffy in a hot summer day (3) towels were not changed.

Great alternative for travellers on a budget. The studio was neat and clean and the building was safe. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to get in on a weekend - but they sent pretty clear instructions. Loved the kitchenette which allowed for eating in. Very nicely furnished.

I'm not feeling it
Pluses: Friendly and helpful staff; on-site laundry room; and kitchenette. Negatives: very inconvienient to reach by public transport (buses maybe, but far from nearest tram stops); NO english language TV stations; dreary rooms; a neighborhood that resembles a war zone. Hate to give a negative review in light of the helpful staff, but not much good - seems like more of a student housing than hotel.

Bordeaux Break
This studio apartment is part of a three storey block of apartments in a fairly old area of Bordeaux and I believe leased by permament and semi permament residents. It is a bit out of the way, but is 100 to 150 mts from a bus stop which takes you to the very efficient transport network throughout Bordeaux. There is a supermarket approximately 100 mts away which stocks most items required. The unit itself is fairly small but does have everything you need including a useful kitchenette with microwave, toaster, jug, plates and cutlery. There are three fairly glaring negatives: 1. The double bed is a sofa with a very lumpy base (not easy to sleep on). 2. The shower which is small anyway has a plastic curtain which gravitates to the hot water. This I believe could be rectified with a glass screen. 3. There needs to be a light switch when getting out of the lift instead of floundering through a very dark passage for five to six metres to find one. The reception lady was extremely helpful and efficient with good knowledge of english and information of the area. There was no room service or towel and bedding change during our five day stay. This however did not bother us. For the money we paid it was reasonable value. If however the items I have referred to were rectified it would be excellent value. As it stands I would give it only 2 out of 5. With improvements 31/2 to 4 out of 5. Would we stay again? Probably not unless changes were made.
