Dexter Peak Cabin at the base of the Beartooth Mountains, minutes to Yellowstone

Dexter Peak cabin is perfectly situated on 25 acres at the base of the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains. This cabin is one of two cabins that we own, the other one about 1/4 mile away on a separate 20 acre parcel on its own which can be rented together or separately. See Elk Ridge cabin vrbo #191225. A 24' camping trailer has been added on the same parcel, but privately located behind our large garage. The RV has a queen bed with new innerspring mattress, as well as two bunk beds, measuring 32" x 72" and the dinette makes into a 4' x 5' bed. The RV is self-contained all on its own with its own campfire pit, bbq, shower, refrigerator/freezer, stove, tv, stereo! The tariff for the RV is $55-100 depending on the month.
Just 35 miles north of Yellowstone Park, these accommodations offer breathtaking views of four mountain ranges. Varying lights of the Montana skies and glimpses of nature and wildlife soothe the soul year round. Perfect for creative reflection, a romantic getaway, that special fishing trip or as a home base while enjoying the wealth of activities, breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife the area provides.

The Dexter Peak Cabin sleeps two, has a loft bedroom with a king-size bed and a full-sized, firm quality futon couch on the main floor. Please notice the staircase going to the king-size bed. The ceiling height is between 4-5' above the king bed, one cannot stand up. The cabin has a full kitchen, stocked with the basic essentials, a gas BBQ, television, VCR/DVD with a selection of classic movies, a washer/dryer, and an outdoor firepit located at the lower portion of our property in the draw. A rustic steel fire pit has been added outside the cabin for your convenience, firewood is provided.

The cabin sits on the edge of a meadow with its own private yard and covered porch. There is a wrought iron table and chairs and lounge chairs to enjoy the peace and quiet and views of the 11,000 foot tall mountains before you.

The door opens to a complete kitchen with hickory cabinets, a full bathroom and laundry area and a cozy living room with television, with built-in VCR/DVD, CD player, table and futon couch. A nice selection of videos and books adorn the bookshelf for your enjoyment after the adventures of the day. A rustic staircase rises to the loft with a king-sized bed. Foam sleeping pads are available for small children.

The kitchen is well appointed with a refrigerator, four-burner stove, microwave, cookbooks, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, knives, toaster, blender, and coffeepot and grinder. Laundry soap, iron, ironing board and dryer sheets are provided for your convenience.

Perfect Location to Enjoy the Views
We really enjoyed our stay at Dexter’s Peak Cabin. The cabin was small but mighty. Packed with everything we needed to enjoy our stay, plus recommendations on things to do around the area. The cabin decor was perfect. We loved watching the sun rise over the mountains every morning from the perfect location. We’ll be returning.

A lovely time in a tiny cabin: cozy
It's a nice property, very reactive hosts. Vicky was kind enough to lend me a cast iron pan for my cooking- managed a 6 course tasting menu for 2 with the few things I had! She also got me a knife sharpener to use! I could slice tomatoes again! I would suggest getting a couple cheap plastic or wood cutting boards, because those glass boards are awful on knives. My only complaint is that when I set my filters for searching for the kind of properties we like, I had "hot tub" as something we wew looking for, and the Dexter Peak cabin was described as having a hot tub. That was definitely not available to us when we arrived, and without even a bathtub to soak in. That was the one big bummer of our otherwise wonderful, relaxing week! Just wish we'd had the hosts tell us, "yeah, you booked when there was one, but it broke and we had to get rid of it." Would've been nice to know ahead of time.

Cozy cabin for weekend getaway
This cabin was very cozy and in a great location. Communication with Vicky was kind, clear, and helpful. We felt warmly welcomed to paradise valley. There was a lovely assortment of amenities and everything was very clean except for a bit of dog hair on the bed/around the sleeping area. Otherwise everything was amazing! Thank you Vicky!

Dexter Peak Cabin
We had the best time while in Montana staying at the Dexter Peak Cabin, which is in a lovely setting with wide-open spaces surrounded by quiet rolling green hills and majestic views. We needed a lot of rest and relaxation, and that’s exactly what we experienced. The cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed during our nearly two-week stay. A welcome basket offered us delicious snacks as we unpacked and got settled. The king-size bed in the loft was comfy. The cabin is in close proximity to the surrounding little towns and within driving distance of Yellowstone. Wildlife is literally right outside the cabin door. We saw mule deer and beautiful birds every day. We enjoyed many nights around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and breathing in the fresh air. The owners, Vicki, Gary, and Steve, were fantastic. Vicki brought over dessert one night making our stay even sweeter. Gary owns a little art studio and gallery in Pray; if you have time, you must check it out. We really enjoyed our time at this special cabin, and we hope to return one day.
