Muskoka River Retreat is an boutique vacation destination on the private crystal clear waters of the Muskoka river. Our new build is full of modern amenities for all family vacations, romantic getaways or luxury/wilderness experiences . The clean and quiet waterfront has all day southern sun exposure and includes canoes, kayak, paddle board, sauna, outdoor fire pit, and cut fire wood that all ready for your use. Biking, hiking, fishing, are all at at the doorstep. 2:15 minutes from Toronto . The hub of Bracebridge is only 15 minutes away, where you can shop and dine to your heart's content. Muskoka River Retreat is owned and operated by Generation Seven, an indigenous small business.

Amazing Stay!!!
As soon as we saw the house, it was beautiful and we couldn’t wait to begin our vacation! The house was very clean, amazing views and a dream away from home. We loved how the house was in the middle of everything if you had to make a run to Walmart or shopping. We especially loved the water view and how quiet and peaceful it was. We will definitely return! Thank you Greg for being a great host

Magical Snow Escape
As always, this property is wonderful, particularly in the wintertime! There is lots to do outdoors in the surrounding area. The hosts even provided some treats for Valentines Day, which was very thoughtful! We look forward to returning again!

Beautifully setup, a gorgeous property!
We truly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean & beautiful, had gorgeous landscape & was close to all amenities. Setup was well thought of, everything needed was provided including firewood for a cozy fireplace. First class experience all the way through and also an amazing & resoonsive host. Thank you Greg! Our daughter had a blast and enjoyed her ski camp! Our dog was in heaven. There was great privacy as well. We highly recommend it & definitely love to come back.

Beautiful getaway
We stayed at this beautiful property for thanksgiving. It was a lovely experience. The cottage is located in a very quiet. serene location right on Muskoka river. We throughly enjoyed the views from the living room and the warmth from the log fire. Greg, was an amazing host. He even let us check out later in the day. I would go back again. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous home and wonderfully pristine river location
Greg was a wonderful host. When something went wrong, he responded immediately with a solution to the problem. Sleeping arrangements should be considered as sometimes, depending on ages and relationships, beds need to be assigned appropriately. We had one male almost 13 and two girls ages 15 for part of our stay.

Exceptional vacation
The cottage is stunning and luxurious. Exactly as advertised and more. Swam off the dock and paddled the river to falls every day. Rainy days in the Muskoka room are what it was designed for. Loved the days we spent there making happy family memories. Hope to spend time there again in the future. Thank you Greg and Kathleen for a wonderful vacation.

Extremely clean and relaxing
My honest review. (Not picky, just honest) Greg was absolutely a gentleman and a gracious host. He greeted us, showed where everything was and left us his number for any questions. Inside is small-ish for 2 adults and 4 kids BUT it was clean and organized. Air conditioning worked beautifully and IF you needed TV/Internet, it was fast. The dock area was nice and the river was picture perfect. As a landscape guru, I could appreciate the hard and soft scape around the whole property. Negatives (hardly any) - Pictures showed a ladder leading up to a loft area but we were told we couldn’t access it and the ladder was taken down…. My son was bummed out because of that. - There’s not a lot of places to go inside for privacy/separation BUT again, it’s not a bad place to be stuck. - Not a lot to do if you get “cabin fever” so we made the drive into town a couple times. I would absolutely recommend this place for a couple with 2 kids OR it’s great if you just want to get away from the city.

Relaxing getaway
We loved the property and would stay here again. Very quiet and peaceful. This was our 1st time renting a cottage and we were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities that were provided. We 2 people had a fantastic time. The cottage is well stocked with everything needed including toys for kids, etc. We had a canoe, kayak, paddle board, wood for evening fire. Choice of being in the sun or the shade on both the dock and the deck. The spectacular views, very attentive host, made for a relaxing and enjoyable our days. The cottage itself is beautiful, immaculate, and charming, made all the more special by the craftsmanship and detail in its design. Such special memories. I am Still speechless. Thank you Greg.

Our recent stay was nothing short of extraordinary - it truly sets a new benchmark for all our future travel accommodations. From the indigenous art on the walls to the books piled in each room, you can expect to feel welcomed into a home, not just a house. The property, thoughtfully designed, doesn't vie for attention with the surrounding environment but rather, integrates seamlessly into the landscape. It was as if we were living with the land, not just on it, and this feeling of closeness enhanced the sense of peace and relaxation we found here. The privacy we enjoyed was highly appreciated and we were so grateful our dog, Duke, could be included. He had an absolute blast, loving his newfound freedom, swimming and napping to his heart's content. He was living his best life! Greg's stellar hospitality truly stood out. His prompt responses and insightful suggestions, like the recommendation to bike to the falls, made our experience all the more enjoyable. Relaxing family fun!
We rented this cottage for a small getaway for our family over my sons birthday. When we arrived, it was exactly as the pictures showed- beautiful! The weekend weather was sunny, cloudy and rainy all in one - that’s May for ya! We had plenty to do with canoeing, roasting marshmallows, playing games, watching movies and a couple of cat-naps! Popped out to Bracebridge to pick up some birthday treats with only a 15-20 minute drive. The location is far enough away to feel like a getaway, but close enough when you need something. Greg was extremely helpful with answering any questions I had (or my husband had) and the cottage was perfect! Everything you could possibly need and more. Even the little extras you may have forgotten, it’s there! We had such a great time, I am def coming back!!! Thanks Greg!!

Winter Paradise!
This was our family's second time renting this amazing cottage and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Lots of places to explore nearby, clear and star filled skies at night, and a good amount of snow to enjoy! Greg, the host, was a gracious and attentive as ever. We definitely recommend a getaway here and hope to be back!

Fall Getaway
We had such a fun weekend away! It was a wild weather weekend where we enjoyed snow and then 20 degrees. The cottage accommodated whatever Mother Nature had in store. When there was snow we cuddled up by the fire and then warmed up in the wood burning sauna. The kids were even brave enough to jump the water after the sauna! When it warmed up we were off to explore the river in canoes and kayaks. It was beautiful. The cottage has everything we needed and was clean and cozy. Greg was very helpful and quick to answer all of our questions. We recommend this beautiful property to anyone that wants to getaway! Thank you Greg!!

Absolutely Picturesque
Our stay was amazing. The fall colors with the water view was unforgettable. The property is very clean, modern and well equipped. We were a little bit concerned about the chilly weather. However, we had no issues at all with heating. The floor heating in the washroom and kitchen was especially nice in the morning. Overall, I definitely would recommend - particularly in the fall!

Clean and bright cottage getaway!
This cottage is amazing! Greg was very kind and accessible. He also responded to all our questions instantly! Greg met up with us and showed us around the property, we even got to meet Harley (biggest sweetheart!) The property is stunning, and it was more magical in person. Everything is neat and tidy, both outside and inside! It felt like home away from home - the peace and quiet is on another level! There are plenty of activities – our party loved the sauna, paddle board, canoe, and kayak! Waking up to the river glistening with the sun beaming through the whole home was breathtaking! Gorgeous, peaceful Muskoka retreat
This was a wonderful stay for me and my family. Greg was a fantastic host who was very kind, accessible, and helpful. No detail was overlooked. We all felt totally at home. The cottage is gorgeous and the couches and beds are super comfortable. The setting is private and peaceful. The view out the floor to ceiling windows was awesome and even on the one rainy day, we loved being there every minute. There were few boats going by and mostly just a some people in canoes. The canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding were so fun. The river is wonderful for swimming off the dock. We didn’t use the outdoor sauna but it’s gorgeous and we plan to do that next time. The fire pit by the water was awesome at night. Our dog, a little Havanese, lived her best life for 7 days and it was so fun to have her there with us. The drive to Bracebridge is truly 15 minutes and it’s a gorgeous drive through the country. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to go back! A big thank-you for a perfect stay!

Cottage-mode getaway
Great spot for someone looking for a private waterfront getaway with lots of options for outdoor activities (biking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, sauna, bonfires) and close enough access to small town Bracebridge with it's quaint downtown and unique shops. Our host was very hospitable and made us feel welcomed and even had a welcome basket waiting for us at arrival! The home was beautiful and very clean and had all the amenities we needed for the week. We were able to relax and enjoyed our week-long getaway. Would highly recommend!!!

Summer cottage getaway
We had the most amazing week on this cottage! It was beautiful and clean and perfect stay for my husband myself and our 14 month old daughter. There was a ton of outdoor space and a great waterfront.
