My mother-in-law loves Branson and Silver Dollar City during the holidays. She turned 80 in August and this was my birthday gift to her, just a girl's trip with me and her to Branson. I chose this cabin for its close proximity to SDC as well as it being on the lake. It was lovely. The cottages are a little bit older, but very charming, cozy, and clean. It fit our needs perfectly. We were gone to SDC all day on Saturday. I highly recommend it during the holidays. The lights are extraordinary! One suggestion I left for management, and I will mention it here for you guys as well. The temperatures in Branson were 81 degrees on Tuesday before we arrived on Friday. However, Friday night it dipped into the upper 20s, and was only a high of 44 on Saturday. There is a digital thermostat next to the kitchen. That one controls the wall unit above the sofa in the living room. There are individual thermostats (an older type) in the bedroom and living room as well. They were all set on "off", so we didn't mess with them. It was super cold when we returned from SDC Saturday night, and we were a little uncomfortable sleeping that night. The next morning I decided to turn on the thermostats that were on "off", and very quickly realized they control the baseboard heat in both bedrooms and the living area. It was toasty warm by the time we checked out. I suggested they put little notes under each one to let folks know, and/or add it to the helpful tips that are on a paper on the refrigerator. It was mostly our fault for not asking, but just FYI, so you know. Overall, we loved it and will definitely go back. Having the store right next door was a big perk!! Hot coffee and cappuccino at your disposal, if you don't want to make it in your room. I also highly recommend a restaurant/bar just down the street called Pzazz! We had prime rib with all the fixings, and the most AMAZING house dressing called lemon/garlic. It was incredible!
