Unfortunately, it was not possible to stay at Smartflats - place jourdan, even though this was the place that I booked via Hotels.com, so my review will be based in the whole experience with smartflats.
I booked this place for 10 nights but the day that I arrived in Brussels, when I contacted Smartflats I was informed then and only then that I could not use check-in in this apartment due to 'technical difficulties' and that they had moved my reservation to a total different location (Madou), which was a smaller apartment and having a view from half of the windows to the wall from another building. Smartflats had the audacity to call this an 'upgrade' moving me from Place Jourdan to Madou and to a smaller apartment with the same price and even tried to hide the fact that it was in a bad neighbourhoud of Brussels (st. josse) by sending me a wrong address stating that it was in Brussels-1000 instead of St. josse 1210. When I confronted the person who send me the information and asked to speak to a manager the communication abruptly was interrupted and I had to go through hotels.com to complaint. With the intervention of hotels.com smartflats had promised a 20% refund but they have not honored their promise so far.
Furthermore, before my arrival and even though, the terms of the reservation stipulated that smartflats would charge me 150 euros as a guarantee and the rest of the amount upon my check-in, two unauthorized transactions occurred on my credit with the full amount!
