NEW Mountain Trace Cottage in Bryson City/Smokey Mountains. Pet/Child friendly

Enjoy a stay in our cottage nestled in the mountains of Bryson city on almost 5 acres with Grassy Branch stream running through it. Get away while still enjoying numerous amenities all within 5-20 minutes' drive. Although our cottage feels remote it’s just 14 mins to downtown Bryson City’s Mainstreet & the great Smokey Mountain railway. Just 12 mins to closest ingles store, 20 mins to NOC (Natahala Outdoor Center) & just 10 mins from the Alarka marina. There are numerous trails including the Appalachian trail within near driving distance. Explore the ‘Road to No Where’ & learn the rich history of this area. With numerous local waterfalls & trails; the area is a hiker's dream. Our understanding is the "Rice" family founded the land and there are still plum trees on our property dating back to them.
We've tried to provide all the amenities you may need. (Full sized oven & fridge, Hot Tub, washer/dryer, 55" smart TV, predictable Wi-Fi/internet & 'stocked' it with most things non disposable that one may need) The bedroom features a queen-sized bed. The bathroom has full-sized shower/tub with stackable laundry. Laundry soap & dryer sheets provided. A futon (with an extra twin plug-in blow-up mattress/linens are located in the futon storage) in living room. Linens and towels/wash cloths are provided. Our quaint cottage can accommodate 2 very comfortably but, up to 4 and is pet friendly. The hot tub is brand new and located adjacent to the house and perfect for star gazing.
There’s an upper cleared area on the property - feel free to explore & enjoy the property's view. If you enjoy nature, hiking, or just sightseeing in the great outdoors, like we do, we're hoping you'll enjoy our place too.
*We do occasionally have a visitor, a porch puppy. He is a large brown dog who is super friendly with animals, kids and adults. Weve heard he's been showing up since the previous owners started developing a couple years ago. A few months ago, we noticed who ever owns him is trying to keep on their property as he has a shock collar. We had not seen him in May but he's made a reappearance here late in June. Please do NOT allow porch puppy in the house. If ignored, he will go home. If he's petted or fed he will stay on porch or under porch by hot tub.

Hey Colette, we enjoyed our stay at your place. The pre-built fire was very generous and great to experience. Enjoyed the hot tub. Simple place but had everything we needed and was clean. Two small things that could help would be: first somehow better marking entrance or giving a note in the listing about google maps error. It had us go up the road further and we missed the entrance the first time around. Second would be to work on the lock of front door. It was difficult to get it to lock. I had to hold the handle open for the dead bolt to engage. Small things. But enjoyed it and hope the property brings you many more renters

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this charming little house in the woods for our 14th wedding anniversary! The moment we arrived, we were struck by how quaint and beautifully maintained the property was. Everything was spotless, making us feel right at home. The surrounding acres of stunning land were perfect for exploring, and we loved wandering through the woods together. It was the perfect backdrop for us to recharge and connect with nature—and each other. Our host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. Perfect place to relax!
Weekend getaway for husbands Bday. We love riding our Mtn. bikes and enjoy visiting Bryson City. We’ve stayed at many cabins and tiny homes and this one did not disappoint. Clean, relaxing and cozy! We plan to visit again. :) Host are great as well!

Best little gem in The Smokey Mountains
We came for our anniversary and stayed 6 nights. The home is so inviting and and is a very quiet area. After long days of hiking to waterfalls and explorig Bryson City, Cherokee, and Maggie Valley, it was great to come back and relax in the hot tub or by the firepit.

A week away with our toddler
We had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing getaway. Our son loved exploring the secluded property and enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The property is close enough to Bryson City to enjoy all it has to offer, yet far enough to get away from it all. Overall the place was very clean and well kept, and the host was more than amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the well stocked kitchen, and basic condiments there as well. The air conditioners in the living area and bedroom worked really well and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub too!

Amazing place
I absolutely loved this little house. It was perfect for a couple. I love that it had a bedroom with a full sized bed instead of a loft that a lot of tiny homes have. It also has a full size bathtub/shower. The home was decorated beautifully and smelled amazing. The hot tub was one of the nicest ones I’ve ever had at a rental and the temperature was perfect (I worried about it being too hot for summer). I would definitely stay here again! I also highly recommend The Rice Wagon if you stay in Bryson City!

Stayed for multi-day event and site has the necessary amenities. Property is one bedroom trailer but very well kept and quite. A little difficult to access and could use improved markings and lights as site is steep and has drop offs. Communications with owner is excellent and we would stay again.

This place was perfect for me and my little dog. The hot tub and fire ring were my favorite. Everything seems new, and all was comfy, in good working order and very clean. Comfy bed, plush towels, good AC. I liked the quiet and rocking on the front porch, the stars were amazing at night from the hot tub! If you stay on the road going past the Cabin in about 10 minutes, you’ll come to the Alarka marina on Fontana Lake. I rented a boat and explored the lake. Bryson City was a 15 min ride the other way and offered shops and restaurants. The owner was very communicative, I will be a repeat renter for sure!! Perfect for a couple.

My husband and I love this property! We wanted to be secluded but still close enough to hike and have a short drive to Bryson City. The house was perfect for us! We had everything we needed. We enjoyed the games and puzzles for the one rainy day we had. The amenities were everything we were looking for. The owners were quick to respond with my questions. If you are looking for a small place to stay, that still feels cozy, secluded, but close to town-this is the place for you!!!!-you won’t regret it! We will definitely stay here again!

Amazing mountain getaway
Beautiful cozy and quiet. Perfect if you want time alone or to just clear your head. Not much traffic or noise. Neighbors are not close and you never hear much or anything but the crickets. Skies are clear and beautiful. The cabin is cozy and sweet. You feel at home as soon as you arrive. I extended my stay just because I loved it so much.

If you are looking for a rural location with actually being able to see the stars ⭐️ clear as day at night, along with coyotes howling in the distance this is the place to be!!!! My hubs and puppy had the time of our lives. Peace and quiet and a cozy place where we slept like royalties. Michelle the cleaner is amazing . I legit have nothing to complain about we had a blast chilling by the fire listening to nature with none of the distractions of the city, just you chilling in nature. ❤️. You want an amazing host and a relaxing time this is the place to go. Perfect for a small pack of people. Do note to get to this piece of paradise be known the road is windy but that’s what makes the adventure the best. There’s a beautiful long driveway , little creek on the side of the property. When summer hits plan to rent again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Can’t say enough !!!! You won’t be disappointed! The host and her hubs are amazing ❤️❤️
