Friends trip to Budapest
The flat was well equipped and centrally located. Overall our stay was great, with just a couple of things that could be improved. We had to wait a while for check in but we waited in a restaurant around the corner so this was fine. The boiler didn’t make much hot water so it was difficult for everyone to shower.

Property was close to public transportation and near the waterfront area. The check in process was not the smoothest as we had to wait over an hour despite giving plenty of updates of arrival time. The beds were not very comfortable and their were extra fees for small items that were not mentioned such as extra toilet paper.

SCAM ARTISTS
These people are scam artists. Please to NOT give them your credit/debit card info. on the site. Here is what happened to me: We went directly to the flat from the Budapest Airport and arrived at approx. 8:30pm. The woman with the keys showed up at 10pm and told us that we needed to pay for the flat, in full, by euros ONLY. (even though they had my card on file for a deposit) AND paying by cash only was not specified on the profile on Hotels.com. But, we said we would try and get the cash so we went in search of an atm and found that they only give Hungarian Forents (HUF) at the ATM's in Budapest. the mgmt. of the flat would not take HUF... I called Hotels.com and explained that we were unable to obtain euros for the payment. Hotels.com spoke to the owner, Michael, who told them that he could only take euros even though it was not listed on the profile. So, Hotels.com offered us another place and reassured me that nothing would be charged to my debit card which I had given while making the reservation. A few days later I find that City Centre Style Apartment under the name of "Like Home Apartments Kft. Budapest HU" had charged me $125.00. I'm furious! My bank has agreed to reverse the charges but I will have to close my debit card and go through a lengthy process with my bank.

You have been warned!!
This stay was horrible. The outside area was amazing. First, the person that they sent to pick us up from the airport, he did not take us all the way to the place, he took us 2 streets over and let us out. We asked several of people to help us find the place and we still could not find it. Then I found out that we paid double the price for the apartments to pick us up. We found a real estate office and the lady said she could call the guy for us. He was yelling and being rude to her on the phone and hung up the phone in her face. Finally, he comes to get my daughter and me, he was rude to the lady and then he was rude to me as well. He didn't want to help us with our luggage. When we got to the apartment, he rudely told us the rules. His attitude was inappropriate and down right nasty. In the apartment, it was clean. The washing machine did not work, the mattress on the bed was thin and uncomfortable and the shower had a foul odor. No iron and watered down hand soap. The building was a bit spooky, it looked like an abandoned building (I have attached pictures of our view from the door). You could not see outside the window, frosted glass. And to top it all off, check out time is 10:00 am. Oh, I almost forgot, there was a sign in the house about being quiet, I have attached a picture of that as well.

Perfect location and great apartment
Everything was great. The only thing not 5 stars were the mattress. It was a little too thin for us. Great place to stay in Budapest!

Great except for checkin
Great location and generally a very comfortable and clean unit except beds are narrow with a thin mattress but reasonably comfortable. The only real hassle is check in. Although the owners had booked our transfer from the airport and we had paid an extra €10 for early checkin we stood in the rain for 40mins then I rang again and about another 30 mins passed before someone came with a key. All infomation inside the unit explains that this is the way it works but you cannot read that until after you have waited. Early checkin turned out to be 30minutes!

Don't go there!
Dirty, not maintained, broken toilet seat, broken lid of dustbin, outlet of sink blocked, carpets covered with thick layers of dust, we found clothing of a previous guest and dustballs under a bed, the Wifi password refers to a date in the year 2009 - it seems nothing has been done since, the public toilets at the Hungaroring were better maintained and cleaner than in the apartment, the owners in a hurry to hand over and not prepared to give helpful information regarding traveling in Budapest, very disappointed, a disgrace, a rip-off!

The apartment is one floor up in a building midway down vaci utca. It is at the rear of the building so very quiet. main bedroom is small, but comfortable, rest of apartment is clean and reasonably equipped. Be aware of the quiet time rules. Short walk to the river and bus/metro stops

Central location
The apartment consisted of 1 room which was the bedroom/dining/livingroom,there was also a kitchen and bathroom. The shower didn't have enough hot water for 2 people to shower one after the other. No toaster. We received several texts and emails about the house rules.one of which stated if we were too noisy and the neighbours complained we'd be told to leave and liar the deposit although one afternoon we had to listen to a neighbours heavy metal music! They left 2 toilet rolls and if you needed more from them they charged €5 for 2. We were there 4 nights and were given 1 hand and 1 bath towel each. The windows were frosted so couldn't look out and the patio only looked into a drab courtyard. The only positive was that thelocation was perfect and very central.

Nice apartment to rent in Budapest
The location of the apartment is very close to several metro stations, making it easy to reach pretty much anywhere in the city. The apartment itself was exactly as pictured: nice, spacious, and clean. It was a great value for the price!

great location, needs updating
the apartment has all the necessary amenities, but some areas could do with upgrading. the beds and pillows were very flat, hard and uncomfortable and the shower drain was terrible; after about 5 minutes the water started to overflow so we had to constantly keep an eye on this when showering. it made life difficult in the mornings/evenings with 5 people needing to shower. we have reported this to the owners so hopefully it will be fixed. the apartment was in an ideal location, within easy walking distance to the main street full of shops, pubs and restaurants. it felt relatively secure with a keypad door into the apartment building, however the courtyard/stairs area was very run down. the lift didn't look very secure but using the stairs wasn't a problem for us. our main problem was the transfer we'd booked with the apartment owners, we were picked up from the airport fine and arranged by the online form to be picked up 09:15 on our return day. we were outside waiting by 09:05 and by 09:30 no one had turned up, i had emailed the owners but had no reply so we had to find alternative travel. there were no 5 seater taxis available, so we had to pay for 2 as we didn't have enough time to plan a public transport route without missing our flight! this was a very disappointing and stressful end to our holiday, so i would definitely recommend researching your own way to transfer. there are plenty of public transportation systems which would do the job and not let you down!!

Great location in the side of Pest one block from the river, lots of restaurants, stores and bars in the area. This is absolutely amazing! 2 really small beds and one big sofa that is actually better than the beds I wouldn't fit more than 3 people. Some things where missing in our experience. We didn't have a hair dryer, they charge extra for the use of the safe deposit box in the room, the tv wasn't working. They sent us an email asking the details of arrivald no one was there until we called and the apartment was just being clean.

We booked this hotel apartment for five days. The location was in the city center and close to all public transportation. The apartment is situated inside an apartment complex with no sign knowing it is the right location. I waited 20 minutes in panic for the manager to show up with the key. The apartment is clean and spacious, with everything you need to do your own cooking. However all of the apartment windows are on one side facing the hallway, leaving you with no privacy and noise protection. And the bathroom is smelled of mold.

Unbeatable location, decent room for the price
The hotel is situation in the old town on the famous Vaci street, between Elizabeth Bridge and Liberty Bridge, and it's very close to the Great Market Hall which has a real grocery store in the basement (Aldi). Since it's a pedestrian area, you really need to arrange a meeting with them to pick up the key which was at the street corner for us. The room #1 that we stayed was pretty big and it has 2 bedrooms. Michael was very responsive and helpful with communication through email. We had a good stay there. The unit has a laundry machine, but there's no dryer, so be prepared to hang dry your clothes. The bathroom doesn't have a ventilation since it's located in an old building, so it could get really muggy after the shower. Staff doesn't speak English, but they are helpful. We tried to request for extra trash bags since they don't give you any extra but that wasn't successful to the end, mostly I believe it was the language issue. Also, bring your own soap, shampoo and detergent!
