It was fine
The room was comfortable and clean, however the bed was much smaller than shown on the advertisement (camera angle error I think) and a few things were broken in the bathroom. We really enjoyed the breakfast, which included fresh orange juice and very good croissants. The service was fine, however it felt like every time we walked out the front door we had to walk through the middle of all the staff smoking which was uncomfortable- it didn't feel very friendly.

A pleasant stay.
I didn't stay here for long as I arrived late at night and left in the morning. I had a key left out for me at night and the room was comfortable but without air conditioning. The view is very nice and it is possible to order food and drinks to your room. I had a little balcony and there is a lovely garden balcony for all guests to enjoy. Breakfast was quite good.staff where also friendly.

One night stay while in the area visiting family nearby. We chose this hotel because of the proximity to our family and it offered parking. We requested a room with a balcony (which we were granted). It was a basic, no frills room. It didn't resemble the picture on the website however, I suspect those rooms are on the ground level. The bathroom shower was small and if you are not careful, water will get everywhere! The breakfast has nice options and the terrace overlooking Grasse is divine.

Amazing views, friendly staff, basic, dated.
Clean, basic room with en suite and a nice balcony but no fridge and the decor felt a bit dated. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the views from the terrace and the balcony were amazing. Breakfast could be added on but I didn't eat at the hotel. I arrived at the train station at 7.40pm on a Wednesday with no taxis in sight. I caught the bus into the town centre and then walked up the windy roads to the top of the hill as there were no taxis to be seen in town either. My advice would be to pre-book a taxi if you're not driving.

Lovely views but no WiFi and no restaurant
If you are using public transport to get to Grasse you need to add on 20 euro each way for taxis from/to the train station. To get something to eat at the hotel involves a15 min downhill walk and a 20 min uphill hike back to the hotel.

just ok
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately there was no free parking and the parking was a ten minute walk from the hotel up and down hill. The room was bare and stark and everything was falling off the walls, the light was out in the hallway and there was no vending machine for any kind of drinks. For the price of the stay, the parking should have been free especially when you make the guests walk to and from the garage uphill. That was really unfortunate.

Simple hotel with a beautiful view of Grasse.
Very pleasant, but if you're arriving by foot be prepared for a serious stair climb! Simple rooms, we asked for a double but it was two singles pushed together with single duvets. No air-con but could open the windows. Great shower with hot water every time. I would recommend it for people who want to see Grasse or Cannes over a short period of time.

Good price... But don't expect much.
Great staff! Extremely friendly and accommodating. Hotel is located far away from parking. Staff does not allow guests to park on the premises even though there are parking spots available. You have to pay for your own parking and then walk to the hotel. No elevator and no AC in rooms. Stay here for good price... but don't expect much.

A very good hotel, with great views and service
Traveling for business, I needed a hotel in the Grasse region. The Mandarina fit the bill perfectly. Being a smaller hotel, the staff was very kind in receiving me, and was expecting me, greeting me by name when I arrived. The breakfast--a great bargain--was excellent and highly recommended. The room was comfortable, but I only gave it a 4 in comparison with a place like the Ritz or so, which at 5x the price, a bit more comfort would be expected. Highly recommended, great for short or long stays, and a wonderful staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Great surprise in Grasse
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel in Grasse. It is a great value for the price- our room was very large and clean. Great view of the city and loved the terrace available for guests to use. It is not easy to find on foot. We arrived at the train station and hired a cab. I would not recommend trying to find the hotel on foot because you have to climb quite a few steps to get there. Once you are there and have dropped off luggage it's not a bad walk to get to the main streets with cafes, restaurants, and the perfume factories. Staff was very helpful. Internet does not work in rooms, only in breakfast room and terrace. If you are looking for a good hotel for a good price I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent view
The only pain point is the parking. We got a VW Multivan (2m height) and we need to park in the street coz no underground garage can accommodate anything higher than 1.9m in Grasse. Nevertheless, the view is superb but remember to select the new extension block. The staff speaks good English and was very helpful to assist as we checked in very late at night.

Great hotel for budget stay
We had a short stay at Mandarina Hotel over the weekend for a friends wedding. The hotel just at the northern border of the village (5 minutes walk from the town centre) proved to be of much better value and quality than some other hotels in the centre of the town (which also our guide suggested we avoided!). The room was small but relatively pleasant, quiet, and with a great view overlooking Grasse. Bedsheets, towels and bathroom were clean. Hotel breakfast was very good in a nice location also with panorama view, though we found that a price of 10 euros per person per day was a bit high for a budget hotel. Staff was particularly helpfull in providing iron and ironing board when desperately needed!

Basic good value hotel for up to 60 euros only
Firstly it was value for money. Downside is the parking. Hotel wanted 15 euros per day to park but stated that the car park 400 metres away was only 2 euros to park overnight. There was ample parking at the Hotel so why charge so much? Breakfast was very good and well presented. Room basic but clean. We would stay here again at no more than 60 euros for 2 people.

Good location - ideal for a couple of nights
Hotel is in need of a little decoration. View from terrace - amazing. The one big problem was the bar - we couldn't even purchase a bottle of water. I did have this concern before we went and I emailed you and was told that this would be sorted out. After breakfast at 10.30am the bar area was closed. NO WATER, SOFT DRINKS, COFFEE!!! Definitely no drink THEY DO NOT HAVE A LICENCE TO SELL ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. I am very disappointed about this, I specifically booked a hotel WITH a bar!!

Only stay as a last resort!
We stayed at this hotel as it was an affordable option near the venue for a wedding we were attending over the weekend. We expected an average room due to the price we paid, however we didn't take into account how hot it would get and how there was no relief due to no air conditioning or fan available. But the worst aspect of this stay was in fact the service. We asked about 2 hours before we needed to head to the wedding about ordering the taxi and we had a young lady on the desk try a few companies then say she couldn't help further and shrugged her shoulders waiting for us to leave. Which meant we had to run down to the Tourism Information centre in the local town to sort out it out ourselves, making the wedding just as the ceremony began! Disgraceful service.

Very poor service
Very unimpressed. I realise this is a budget hotel, however I was not told that the restaurant / bar would be closed for no apparent reason, that the room would be in a cellar overlooking a concrete car park and that the phrase overlooking the town centre meant that it was 3/4 of a mile up a steep hill from the centre. There are no staff on duty at all after midday so you are greeted by a deserted hotel and an envelope on the desk with your room key in it. This turns out to be a blessing as when reception is manned they are spectacularly rude and lacking any motivation to help whatsoever. Although it is relatively cheap I would reccomend travellers avoid this place

Great value property
Clean, comfortable and great value for money, Had a room on the third floor with a fantastic view, Superb breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. The elderly need to make sure they request ground floor rooms as although the hotel has a lift it is split level so there are steps and in some cases a few stairs to negotiate.

Hotel Mandarina in Grasse
Its situation on a steep hill gives a superb view from the patio over the rest of Grasse all the way down to the coast, so in the summer, breakfast on the patio is really nice. However the hill is also the source of its biggest drawback - the car park. They only have room for about 16 cars and the entry/exit and turning are very tight. To make matters worse, one member of staff seems to have a habit of blocking the exit overnight so he has to be called to move his car to allow guests to get out! The alternative public car park is more than 5 minutes walk down the hill and costs extra.
