El Paraiso Del Rey is a trendy, modern but extremely comfortable home, tastefully furnished with the exotic and unusual pieces we have acquired from our travels around the world.
An artistic masterpiece greets your entrance to the foyer. Alvaro Miranda, one of Panama's finest muralists has graced our home with two murals and this one is probably his finest work. In it he captures the gorgeous vistas of the surrounding landscape, including Tarantula Hill, a waterfall at Volcan Baru and some of our favorite tropical plants and hummingbirds.
Then step into the spacious upper-level living area complemented by Natuzzi Italian leather furnishings, with over-sized picture windows affording almost 360° views. The large beautifully hand- carved dining table imported from Thailand will undoubtedly grab your attention.
Paraiso Del Rey boasts an open-concept gourmet chef's kitchen equipped with two dishwashers, new Bosch and Thermador appliances, a coffee and tea station, a 4-foot-long Galley workstation/ sink, and an appliance garage among other upscale amenities. Prepare your meals while enjoying breathtaking mountain views with glimpses of islands in the distant Pacific Ocean.
We made entertaining is a breeze, with more than 12 distinct locations offering various forms of relaxation. Fire up the grill in the spacious Tiki hut equipped with full kitchen and wet bar, comfortable seating for eight, a built-in speaker system, 75-inch TV and remote-controlled LED lighting to complete any occasion.
Perhaps you would prefer to play a game of outdoor ping pong? Or relax on a chilly night next to the large outdoor fire pit or even better, in the hot tub. Each of these locations will afford you some of the most breathtaking views you have ever seen.
Are you wanting some alone-time? Consider basking on the upstairs patio in the Indonesian-inspired daybed with your favorite book and a drink. The daybed's curtains offer extra privacy but you may not want to obscure the ever-present and ever-changing gorgeous views of Panama's lush landscape.
Let's go inside for a bit. Relax downstairs in the large family room on a comfy sofa and recliner, while watching your favorite movies on the 75-in indoor TV. Adjacent to this lounge is a smaller but state-of the-art designer kitchen where you can prepare a snack or full meal without the "hassle" of going upstairs. If you actually need to work (but why?) the kitchen’s barstool and high-top counter can serve as a workstation.
King-sized silk bed sheets, plush sheep's wool rugs and another striking full-wall mural adorn the elaborate master suite. With its soaking tub and extra-large picture windows this space offers the ultimate in tranquility. Try to count each of the hundreds of stars at night or relish an unforgettable sunrise all while lying in bed. It is not uncommon to catch a falling star in the act.
The other three bedrooms are similarly spacious - two have king-sized beds and one has a queen sized bed imported from Bali. All three have generously sized closets and walk-in showers capable of accommodating those with mobility concerns. There is a large desk in one of the guest bedrooms which has a king sized bed.
The surrounding gardens at Paraiso Del Rey occupy over an acre of land. Not just a pleasure to look at, they are lovely to meander through. You will find a wide variety of tropical plants, fruit trees, stunning flowers, and butterfly bushes. Stop to pick a pineapple, a papaya or an orange. Gather fresh limes to make mojitos in the Tiki Bar. (Yes there is a blender there.). Watch out for unusual butterflies including the famous Blue Morpho which frequents the backyard but stay clear of the many hummingbirds who tend to be very territorial. They are a delight to observe.
Venture a little further since a stay at Paraiso Del Rey affords you and your family an opportunity to bike, hike, jog or walk the nearby 18-hole golf course at Lucero Golf and Country Club. This has got to be one of the most beautiful courses in the world but... we may be a bit biased. There is an option to include unlimited golfing along with daily access to the three clay tennis courts on the property. Your extra guests are welcome to rent one of the property’s exquisite Tree Houses. After a round, enjoy a mouth-watering meal at Seasons Restaurant where Chef Paolo would happily cater to your requests.
Our home is just a 15-minute ride from downtown Boquete one of Panama's prized vacation spots. There is so much to do in this charming town that your calendar can fill up quickly if you are not careful. White-water rafting, hot springs, hiking, coffee tours, bird- watching, fishing and whale-watching tours and over 60 restaurants are just some of the reasons that make Boquete a destination, not merely for Panamanians but for tourists from around the world. It is consistently included among the world's top retirement communities.
Paraiso Del Rey is somewhat remote so renting a car is strongly advised though it is not absolutely necessary. There is a taxi service available on call for a fee of $6 to $10 one way to the town and its environs depending on the time of day. The road to the gated community is mostly well- paved but it is somewhat winding which may give some pause to the faint of heart. There is a local bus stop outside the gate but it is not a reliable option given its infrequent service.
We offer five-star luxury accommodation complete with cleaning services twice a week. More frequent service along with meal preparation can be offered upon request and at an additional charge. The garden is meticulously maintained by a weekly landscaping crew and a knowledgeable helpful manager is available for any emergencies or urgent problems.
Paraiso Del Rey is equipped with security cameras and a backup generator that responds within seconds of Panama's sometimes inconsistent electricity supply. The community is served by 24-hour guards at the entrance gate who also frequently patrol the neighborhood. It is very peaceful, well-maintained and safe, Reliable high-speed internet makes working from home stress—free while clean, fresh water flows every day from the faucets. Garbage is collected on Friday mornings.
Paraiso Del Rey is available to discriminating guests for a minimum of 2 weeks.
