This newly remodeled home is ready for your family reunion, "Guys' Weekend" fishing trip, church retreat or any other getaway to North Central Arkansas. Full renovation is almost complete and this property will be ready to host by April 2024.
This freshly renovated home is within walking distance of trout fishing and great local eateries and shopping. We are within easy driving distance to the Ozark National Forest, Syllamo Bike trail, Blanchard Caverns, the Ozark Folk Center and much more. Whatever brings you to North Central Arkansas, our property allows you easy access to both the local ambiance and the natural beauty of the region.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you have come to the right place. Enjoy the quiet of the morning with a cup of coffee on the spacious south-facing back deck or curl up with your favorite book in front of the fireplace. Sleep in or take a nap on the back deck...this is vacation, after all!
There's lots to do in the area, but you don't have to tackle it all at once. The Calico Cottage provides ample space for large parties with room for 18 persons to sleep privately while at the same time enjoy common areas conducive to spending quality time together as a family or celebrating good times with friends.
Relaxation is great, but when you're ready for action, there's lots to do in the area. By far, the most popular local activity is fishing. Take a float trip with a local guide on the White River and land some record trout for dinner. Nearby Lake Norfork has many options for sportfishing or watersports. Boating, kayaking and many other activities are enjoyed on the local lakes and rivers.
If hiking or mountain biking is your thing, Syllamo Mountain Bike trails are a short drive away in the Ozark National Forest. Blanchard Caverns is a subterranean wonder for any spelunkers in your group, and Loco Ropes (rope course, zip line, rappelling) in nearby Mountain View provides fun for kids of all ages. Catch some live music on the square while in Mountain View and experience life from years gone by at the Ozark Folk Center. Several shops line the streets in both Calico Rock and Mountain View if there are members of your party who aren't necessarily into fishing or the other extensive outdoor activities.
When you're hungry, lunch is always on the menu at the Printing Press Cafe or Between the Buns, and you can walk off your dessert without breaking a sweat, since the house is only two blocks away. When it's "five o'clock SOMEWHERE", enjoy a drink at Juniper's Back Door, the local speakeasy.
