Casa Benross is a beautifully appointed property, furnished to a high standard, in an elevated position, overlooking the bay of Palamos. Thoughtful design means that impressive sea and rural views can be seen from the lounge, bedrooms and the secluded garden and pool area. The extensive terraces are ideal for relaxing after that “Al fresco” dinner cooked in the purpose built garden barbecue/kitchen, or simply enjoying a drink whilst watching the children playing in the private pool. The property is bright and welcoming, even the beds are top quality, ensuring pleasant nights as well as days. Okay but needs investment
Joan the host was great. We essentially chose the wrong property, it didn’t suit us in terms of layout at all. More photos would have been useful for us to get a better steer. I do think it’s nice enough, for us the lack of linkages to the outside was a real issue. The outdoor kitchen was tucked away from everything not all practical and the lack of flow between kitchen and dining was awkward. The architect got it all wrong so not sure what the poor owners can do tbh except a major rebuild.

Enjoyable family holiday
We've recently returned from a great holiday in the Costa Brava using Casa Benross as a great base to relax and explore the area. The villa has everything you would need for an enjoyable family holiday in a quiet, not overlooked, position fantastic views over Colonge and to the Palamos coastline. The pool area is a particular standout and we spent many hours relaxing and making great use of the pool. The villa has plenty of space, lots of storage and everything needed to be able to fully self-cater. The property is built over 4 floors which might be an issue for those with limited mobility. We made use of the outdoor kitchen but, as others have noted, there is no direct access from the kitchen to this area. The result is having to walk through the front door via three sets of stairs before climbing down or up several sets of steps outdoors. The villa benefits from air conditioning in all the bedrooms which, during the summer months, will be a must for a comfortable sleep. These worked very well but we did have two of them fail during our stay. Joan made every effort to have these repaired but getting hold of a qualified engineer proved a real challenge. We were provided with a portable unit but, unfortunately, this did little to improve the situation for the master bedroom with ensuite. So, if going in the summer months, make sure that all air con units are fully operational to ensure a comfortable stay. Finally, there are some inaccuracies in the property description. These were not an issue to us but might be important to others so note that there is no games console or table tennis tables. There are 4 bikes available, but these are all unusable due to them having flat tyres and no pump to rectify. Overall, we had a good holiday which was especially welcome after a couple of years of delays due to the dreaded covid related restrictions.

Lovely property
We had a great trip at this property. It was perfect for the age of our kids (4+) who really loved the pool. The views are super and it's close to the beach. Joan, the property manager was really helpful and very friendly. If at some point the house is remodelled, I would also recommend a door from the kitchen area to the outside BBQ for ease of carrying things out, but this did not in any way affect the enjoyment of our holiday. Thank you for a great stay!

Perfectly Peaceful in Every Way!
We were a group of 7 Adults (and 1 child) staying at this property. The villa was spotless on arrival and there was the added bonus of a water dispenser. The pool area was great and the upper terrace which we used most nights for a bbq gave outstanding views across Calonge and beyond. The local village was approx a mile away and very local in dialect which we loved. It was also all very very clean and quiet. A local bakers under the castle and coffee shop in the village (Girbal) we’re firm favourites which we visited most mornings. The Spar Supermarket just down the road (less than a mile) was visited daily and had everything we needed (including fresh meat from the butchery that we had on the bbq, red wine at €1.50 per litre and beer at 0.40 per can - what more can you want!?) We couldn’t fault anything about the town and the villa and we hope to visit again in the future. A big thank you to Joan and Trevor

This was an excellent place to stay as six adults. Clean, spacious, very well-equipped, and the bicycles were particularly welcome. Joan met us and was available and helpful. The pool was spotless, big enough to both swim and play in, and beautifully lit at night. The position was remarkable: a level cycle/drive from the village or the sea, and then a short steepish slope up to the villa, which gave a fine view.of both the nearby wooded hills, and the coast further away. Very easy to get to the beach to swim, fine supermarkets and so on. The bikes enabled us to explore the routes in the plain, and the “green-way” was beautiful, as was the route around the Castell and La Fosca beaches. My only small negative comment relates to the architect: other reviewers have pointed out that there should be a door between the kitchen and the outside eating area. But this was not a great hindrance, and the outside table and barbecue were just perfect, as they were not overlooked and bordered on undeveloped land, all with a wonderful view both of the hills and the coast. There was a good choice for sitting outside: by the pool, on the balcony, or in the barbecue area. Highly recommended.

Lovely villa in a beautiful part of spain
Booking process was easy and Joan was at the villa to welcome us on arrival and on departure. The villa is in a very nice, quiet residential area, it is spacious and was perfect for the six of us but could accommodate more easily. The villa is great but if I were being critical I would recommend some lighting on the steps to the outdoor kitchen/dining area, even better would be to replace the window in the dining room.with a door as there is a reasonably flat path to the outdoor dining area. The pool and pool area is kept very clean and is a good size with ample sun beds. Perfectly positioned to explore Catalonia, a good 1.5 hour drive takes you to some beautiful towns in the foothills of the Pyrenees whilst Girona and many beaches and coves are within minutes driving distance. My favourites were Rupit (1.5hr) and Peratallada (30 mins). Tamariu, Aquiblava (very busy but lovely) and San Pol, a long stretch of clean beach with water sports and a good selection of restaurants. Supermarket choice is good with an Pizjoan, Eurostar, Aldi and Mercadona within 5-10 min drive. There are a few local restaurants but not practical to walk as too dark, Rio D’orb was nice. We ate in Palomas Port area a few times which has a good selection of restaurants on the front and tapas bars on the back streets.

Brilliant holiday
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well appointed villa. Pool provided hours of fun for children and adults! Very clean with washing machine and tumble dryer added bonus. Good location as near many beaches and supermarkets. Do go to Palamos in the evening as have craft markets as well as boutique shops. Restaurants plentiful here. Castell beach lovely. Only downside to villa is amount of stairs. However we all had a wonderful holiday- children did not want to leave!

The best holiday rental we have ever used
Our trip to Spain did not bode well when our flight from Bournemouth to Girona Barcelona was delayed by almost 6 hours - not much fun with a toddler and a five month old baby! On top of that the delayed flight meant our car rental company had closed well before our flight arrived so we had to get a Taxi to our destination which cost us 90 euro. Not a good start you might think but when you wake up the following morning and look out of the bedroom window of this beautiful Villa, all of the previous days troubles fade into the background. This place is a stunner and as a family we cannot say enough about it. Joan and Trevor were brilliant, they organised travel cots, obtained food for our arrival and even drove us back to the airport the following day to pick up our rental cars. So, if you want to stay in a beautiful place with all the mod cons and with stunning views this is the place for you!

Prachtig huis met een waanzinnig uitzicht
Fantastische tijd gehad hier..mooi huis met héérlijk zwembad en waanzinnig uitzicht op de zee en de bergen en het kasteel van Calonge. Wel veel trappen in en om het huis, dus niet geschikt voor kruipende kindjes, maar daar krijg je wel mooi uitzicht voor terug. Het waait meesral wel bij het huis en dan is het héérlijk vertoeven mrt 34 graden. Ook de omgeving is geweldig..veel mooie baaien en middeleeuwse dorpjes..mooie tijd hier gehad je wel mooi uitzicht voor terug. Het lekk vertoeven

Nice house
A very nice house to stay in. Nice surrondings. Nice pool. Two things were not so good. There was a building site next door that we did not know of (a house soon to be finished, so this will not be a problem soon). Joan were very understanding and we made an agreement about this. There was no door to the outside kitchen/barbeque from the kitchen inside, so you had to walk around the whole house to get there. Otherwise very, very nice!

Zunächst einmal ist unsere Gastgeberin Joan eine sehr nette und fürsorgliche Person. hat uns in jeder Hinsicht geholfen. Lediglich aufgrund des niedrigen Wasserdrucks in Spanien hatten wir manchmal Probleme mit Wasser, das in die obere Etage gelangte. Ansonsten war alles super

Recomendable para personas en buena forma fisicaforma
Muy bien, pero a tener en cuenta que hay muchas escaleras, no es para personas con problemas de movilidad. Tendrían que hacer una revisión de que todo está correcto antes de la llegada de los inquilinos, todo los problemas se solucionaron pero cuando ya estábamos instalados en la casa. La zona muy tranquila y con una vista muy bonita, habitaciones amplias.

Vacaciones Agosto 2020
En primer lugar dar las gracias a Nicola y a Joan por su amabilidad. Eramos 5 adultos y 3 niños y hemos podido disfrutar de una hermosa casa con unas vistas fantásticas y una piscina envidiable. También tengo que decir que la casa estaba muy limpia, las habitaciones con camas muy cómodas y todas disponían de aire acondicionado. La cocina estaba totalmente equipada con neveras y congeladores suficientes. El único punto negativo era la terraza superior ya que normalmente hacíamos las comidas y cenas allí y como estos días ha hecho un poco de Tramontana, los parasoles (tanto de la piscina como de la terraza superior) prácticamente no se han podido utilizar porque se los llevaba el viento. También creo que sería necesario hacer una puerta de la cocina a la terraza ya que nos hubiéramos evitado de subir cargados por las escaleras rodeando toda la casa. Aunque eso no evitó que lo utilizáramos Por lo demás, es " Totalmente Recomendable"

Good location with a great view and nice swimming pool. I would not describe the interior of the villa as luxury though. The living area and kitchen had no mosquito screens at the time of our visit, making them uncomfortable to use, especially in the evenings. (We were kindly provided with ventilators to keep those areas more comfortable. ) Outdoor dining area is not easily accessible from the kitchen, and dining room chairs are shedding their pleather. Many thanks to Joan for here assistance.

Mooie woning in rustige buurt
De woning was zeer netjes. Kamers met confortabele bedden en goed functionerende airco. Correct uitgeruste keuken (misschien een aantal basis glazen toevoegen). Voldoende ijskasten en diepvriezer. Buitenkeuken was niet echt netjes. Mooi onderhouden zwembad en voldoende ligzetels. Enig minpunt, geen rechtstreekse doorgang van keuken/woonkamer naar terras met buitenkeuken. Véél trappen en niveau verschillen. Fijne vakantie gehad in mooie woning en rustige buurt.
