This is a non smoking motel and we smelled cigarettes and pot. We also had ashes outside our door in the morning. No one at the desk. It was not as clean as I would like for a room of this amount. Would not recommend this resort. However the breakfast was worth it.

Don't let the appearance of the outside building discourage you from staying. Very clean and cozy bed and quarters. Amazing homemade breakfast offerings the next morning in the guest dining area

Disgusting Inn in a beautiful town.
August 2024 review. The room was dirty, decrepit, very outdated, smelled like tobacco smoke (even though it was stated as smoke free). Bed was hard as a rock, sheets all had stains, the comforter also smelled like tobacco. Pillows (only two in the room) were flat and also stunk. Asked the manager / front desk person for two extra pillows. They were never delivered. He was more interested in getting dinner than taking care of his guests. Shower drain was clogged / slow draining. The shower head is installed (about 5 feet up) in such a way you have bend over to wash your hair. Honestly avoid this place. They are getting away with this disgusting place since it is the only hotel / motel that was available within $180 per night at the time of my visit near Camden If I had my SUV with me I would have better sleeping in that.

When we arrived the room was so,so clean but we left for the day and returned, garbage was still there no clean towels and bugs in the shower The breakfast was very good and presentation was very well presented. I wouldn’t stay there again for just the breakfast

Horrible motel, horrible stay!
This is the worst motel (motel experience) that we have ever had. The room was not clean (bathroom was okay in cleanliness). The floors were so dirty that my feet got black, we couldn't go barefoot in the room. The front door looked like it had been previously broken into and the walls were in disrepair. The worst part was there was a large, bright security light in our window. The blinds were thin and white with no darkening curtains so it was so light in the room it made sleep nearly impossible. I asked if a dark blanket or curtain could be hung on the inside and when we returned to our room that night, someone had hung a thin white blanket over the window. This blanket clearly had body fluid stains on it and didn't help the light. The breakfast wasn't bad but the lady serving it was very unfriendly. We would've left this motel asap but we had prepaid through hotels.com and there wasn't any other motel availability in the area. Don't walk away from this place, run!

Basic Motel, Great People
This was a quick overnight with friends. We arrived later than we had stated we would and our keys were taped on the door (thank goodness). There were a few permanent residents, but they were friendly and even gave us directions to food and pharmacy. This is an older motel and it needs a facelift, but the owner, Scott, and the breakfast manager, Kelly are stars. Scott took the time during our check out to draw a route for us on the map for us and recommended a place for lunch that was just the highlight of the day. Kelly provided a lovely breakfast and was so pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our time sitting at the big table and talking to other guests. This is not a luxury resort, but the people make it special.

I did not feel very safe there. When we pulled into the motel parking lot, I felt there was some suspicious activity going on. I also had a very difficult time getting in to the internet. Was unable to get any service at all for my phone or iPad.

I have nothing to rate them on as our reservations were moved to the Starlight Inn due to an "issue" with the room(s). The Starlight Inn room that I was in was not clean, communication was only done via text message, never actually met a person, there was no breakfast (we could go across the street to the Schooner Bay Inn if we wanted to), beds were not comfortable. The only positive thing I can say was that we did not have to sleep in the car.

We booked two rooms for two nights. The breakfast was decent, but...there were insects in the bathroom of one of the rooms, the blinds in one room facing the parking lot were broken, there were dirty socks under the bed in one room, one room supposedly nonsmoking reeked of smoke. It was adequate for our purposes as we were only there to sleep, but I would not recommend it to most people if they are particular.

We stayed here in 2021, and it was in better shape. They were undergoing a remodel, and we had a freshly finished remodeled room. Hot breakfast was served daily. In 2023, we stayed here again, and the remodel seemed ongoing. Our room was renovated but needed to be more tidy. The floor had yet to be swept, and check-in was via an envelope on the door with breakfast only on Fri-Sun. So disappointed. We received an email in January 24 that their remodel was complete, so we gave them another opportunity. Same as 2023, only breakfast was back to daily. (Pricey for limited breakfast.) The floor was unswept, and the toilet was filthy. They did clean it after I asked. No more stays for us at Schooner Bay.

Our room was filthy. The bathroom floor had little hairs all over, the bed had hair on the sheets, and the blanket was filthy. The headboard was broken and taped together. The mattress cover was stained, Even though it says it is a no smoking room as soon as you walk in, you can smell the stench of cigarettes. The property has miscellaneous stuff all over it and it looks like a junkyard. Although they made an effort for a decent breakfast, it really wasn’t very good. if you have a choice, I would certainly choose another accommodation. The only positive thing I can say is the price was very reasonable… but not for what you got.

There were three envelopes taped to the office door with three different names on it. One was ours. Very unprofessional and dangerous. Anyone could take our key and we would have no one to contact for help. I got a call about 5 hours before we checked in asking if we could give up our room on the first floor for an elderly couple. They offered us two rooms (we had three adults) for the price of one. When we got there, there was only one key. Not a big deal but very confusing. Especially since the office was closed and there was no one to ask about this. It's a cute hotel but I wouldn't stay here again if I had the opportunity.

We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was delicious. It was eggs, French toast, a wonderful hash brown casserole, sausage and an assortment of breads, muffins, bagels. We arrived around 9 pm pulled into the lot to the right of the office. The rooms on that side have broken windows and there were people hanging around in the parking lot. Our room was on the left side and that area seemed safer and looked more well kept. The floor in our room wasn't very clean. There was a hair tie left on the floor so I know it wasn't swept well. There were very few outlets for charging, nothing by the bed. With a little better cleaning and a few inexpensive updates this could be a 5 star stay.

If you’re looking for a place in this area, RUN don’t walk to somewhere…..anywhere else! No one at the office when we checked in or out….. No one answers the phone…., and our room wreaked of cigarettes! It was really bad, especially when Maine hasn’t allowed smoking in hotels since the early 90’s…. H. Smoking is not prohibited in motel or hotel rooms that are rented to members of the public. [PL 1993, c. 342, §1 (NEW); PL 1993, c. 342, §9 (AFF).] 2 pillows on the bed that were flat and nobody available on property or by phone to assist! This place is a complete armpit! on property or
