Our experience was tarnished during our visit to Veranda Italian Restaurant two nights before our departure. This incident left us deeply disappointed and overshadowed the otherwise positive aspects of our stay. We arrived at Veranda at our reserved time. Despite waiting for over ten minutes, no server approached us to provide water or menus. Initially, I assumed the restaurant was busy, but upon looking around, I noticed several empty tables and staff setting nearby tables. They showed no intention of serving us. After another few minutes, I called the hostess over to express my concern. She apologized and directed a nearby waiter to attend to us. The sever brought menus and took our order for pizza, seafood pasta, orange juice, and wine. However, after delivering our food, he made no further efforts to serve us. Throughout the meal, I noticed the waiter providing attentive service to caucasian and local guests while completely ignoring us. I tried to call him multiple times, even waving to get his attention, but he deliberately avoided eye contact. This behavior was humiliating, and it became evident that we were being discriminated against because of our ethnicity. Feeling frustrated and unwelcome, my family and I left the restaurant without finishing our meal. The distress from this incident disrupted our sleep, and the next day, our pre-booked a fishing trip was ruined as we felt unwell throughout.
