Room water very weak even to wash hands , no phones in room , very noisy , far from everything except airport , beach area is small and dirty , it states it is in the hotels zone , it is at the end of the zone close to the airport , $15 - $20 Uber just to get to the real hotel zone . I do not recommend this property.

The staff was great, however we found a cockroach in our room, the safe was not big enough so we had to look for a locker service elsewhere, the last day we had no water. Prices were too expensive for a simple breakfast. The place itself looks great but tons of things to improve

Resort is under construction and should disclose that. Has great potential but is very much a work in progress. The staff is excellent, they remembered my name, helped me to arrange a massage, and were very attentive and responsive. Great getaway from all the partying in Cancun. The only thing missing is a spa.

You’re in the middle of a mangrove but with paths to a small, secluded beach area and a rooftop deck and pool. If you get one of the 1st floor rooms that have a deck on the river pool, you can literally step from your bed into the pool and swim up to Buddha statues. The staff were also outstanding: thanks especially to Siri, Will, Eder, Rene, and others. We can’t wait to return!

Have you ever bought your favorite chocolate truffles ensuring that the packaging looks good only to find that they had previously been exposed to heat so they melted and tempered back inside the envelope and they are now spoiled? Well, that's Akuazul. The interior design is gorgeous, and most of the exterior as well, that is why judging by the pictures in Expedia one can tell that its a super nice place to stay; however this is all a deception. The property is located barely 10 minutes away from the airport, but without GPS helping finding it it can be easily be missed as the building blends in very well with the jungle landscape; this is not a bad thing if it wasn't because of its closeness to the main highway that leads to the hotel strip. That is the real nightmare, a non stop noise from vehicle traffic passing by which gets even worse when heavy trucks pass by shifting gears down to break or late night motorcycle races; the situation is really bad at night as it makes it really difficult to sleep. The management knows this well and provide complimentary ear mufflers like the ones used in production environments that make no sense in a hotel room. To make noise worse, a big resort is being built across the street so as soon as its legal to use the industrial hammer drill on the excavator they will do it, so don't expect sleeping late. Don't stay here.

I really appreciated the friendly welcome and the staff. Everything was as it was described when booking. The lobby and restaurant and ground floor pool were all great and inviting and visually appealing. There were some areas of the hotel that needed some repairs (areas: roof top with other pool; private beach area). It sort of looks like it hasn't had as many visitors as it once had in the past. The private beach area had some areas that didn't look as inviting and the sand portion of the beach isn't abundant. That said, it is private and quiet. Food in the restaurant was great. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

If you are OK with imperfection, but love the idea of staying in a hotel owned privately with tons of whimsy and creativity, then you will absolutely love this hotel. It is great for a few nights to explore the area mainly because you are situated on the main road. The staff is great, the food is good, and the rooms are comfortable. Tons to see and experience. “Instagramable” if you’re into that sort of thing. The beach access is not the best so if you’re looking for a beach vacation I’d recommend elsewhere.

The property will be one of the best budget in the future, still a lot to do and also the properly is getting hit by the mother nature, they allow people to be as they want, I highly recomend this place to make it bigger

Pools were great, both the main and the rooftop. Staff were friendly and the food was good, but service a bit slow as they seemed short staffed. The beach was private, but not very nice as it was in a mangrove area. The spa and other amenities were not open. Lots of potential but they still have work to do

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Place was very pretty cool to see. Definitely more of a rustic experience. The AC in my room did not work well. The restaurant is top-notch.!
