We had a good time at the Zafiro Cala Mesquida hotel with the family. Everything is available for kids to have fun and enjoy their meals. The pools and proximity to the beach was great! The rooms were large and comfortable. The only downside is that we didn't feel as if we were in Spain. I would have loved a little bit more of the Spanish culture and language. Also the restaurant closes at 9pm which we felt was a little bit early.

Excellent family holiday, cleaning, bar and restaurant staff very friendly and polite especially under challenging circumstances. Hotel complex was extremely clean throughout our stay and the food and drinks were very good. The resort is small and friendly with only three hotels that we found, very short walk to the beach, which was really nice A spar shop, pharmacy and doctors in resort with an Italian restaurant Only negative we found is that there was no food available after the restaurant closed in the evening, not even for snacks

We stayed here for a week with a 5 and 7 year old and it was perfect. We paid for a swim up room which was definitely worth it. All swim up rooms have a garden with hammock and sun beds and a gate directly onto a shared pool. The swim up rooms also have the most gorgeous sea view. Our room was very spacious with everything you needed. We were in Block 8 which led out onto an adult only pool (which isn’t adult only at all as all people including children from swim up rooms could use it). The food at the main buffet was ok for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we weren’t told you could eat at the pool bar or by the stage and choose something from the menu for lunch every day which is included in the all inclusive as well. We found that out by chance. The location is about an hour and a half drive from the airport direct. My advice would be to get a taxi or hire a car as transfers which include other hotels can take 2 1/2 hours! The kids club ran 1 hour sessions throughout the day which your children could attend for different activities. All in all, an excellent holiday and we will definitely use Zafiro again! Thank you

I liked this place overall and would recommend it (great if you have kids), but there were a few things that annoyed me. One, the pool hours were 10-6. Say what?! So the pool isn’t open for a morning swim before breakfast or an evening swim after dinner before bed. It’s summer! I understand if you want to close a pool or two, but at least have one option open. I have traveled all over the world and never encountered that before. The beach, however, was open all hours for a swim and very close, but certainly not ideal when you’ve paid for a resort. Anyway, I also didn’t like that there weren’t enough chairs around the pool deck. If you didn’t get your towel on one first thing after breakfast (and you better be early to breakfast) then they were taken the whole day. People would be gone for hours from their chairs but leave all their stuff on them so no one else could use them. Very frustrating. The place was very clean, had a lot of activities like ping-pong and mini golf and a trampoline and we always had great service in our room and at meals. The food was the same quality you would get on a nice cruise. Some things were fantastic, some were just good or ok. All was fresh. Enjoyed the wine included at dinner. The drinks at the bar were not that great, especially for the price. Go down to the bar at the beach if you want some really good drinks. Those guys know what they’re doing. All in all, we enjoyed this resort, including the daily activities, and would recommend it

Fantastic hotel, not much to do around the area other than hotel and beach. Nice beach though. Hotel was very clean and staff where very friendly. They also have an app with all info on entertainment, restaurant opening times etc which was good.

A great stay!
We stayed at the hotel with out 5 years old son the last week of May and we loved it. The hotel is situated in a beautiful secluded area close to a nice sandy beach which is used mainly by the guests of the 3 nearby hotels, so it was really very calm. The pool and kids entertainment areas are great and well maintained. We had a lot of fun at the inflatable ball in the main pool. There’s also a mini club, mini golf and an adults pool. The entertainment team is awesome and really contributed greatly to the good time we all had. They were really friendly and tried to involve everyone with the many activities they were organizing. Special thanks to Richard who was great! The selection of drinks and cocktails which were included in the “all inclusive” option was much better than other all inclusive hotels we’ve been before. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a place to have a fun family vacation.

All Inclusive is fantastic
The resort had no English speaking guests except us, they were all German families, but this did not bother us at all. All the entertainment was anounced in English, Spanish and German, so we never missed out. We were All Inclusive and the food and drinks choices were fantastic, so much variety. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a royal apartment, the terrace with hot tub was great with stunning views. The resort is very clean and well maintained. We had flooding and thunder storms when we were there which caused a few faults but they were immediately fixed when reported. The apartments are a bit on the small side and there are no bedrooms with twin beds only 1 very large bed. The sofa bed isn't great, a bit on the hard side. The air conditioning wasn't good but maybe that was just in our apartment. No on site car parking, you have to drive around the streets trying to find a space which was difficult.

Overlooked and uninspiring
The resort itself is set over a large space but i felt it to be overlooked. You can not see the ocean from 90% of the complex, the photographs give a different impression. There are two large central swimming pools surrounded by 4/5 story apartment blocks, not what I was looking for. We were put in block 6 which was quite a walk from the restaurant and if you have a pram then be prepared to carry it up steps. The food was good with a varied selection. I would not visit here again, we could have been anywhere and was really disappointed.

Fantastic stay
We travelled as a family with a seven year old son he has had a great time The bar and restaurant staff work extremely hard and will go out of their way to help and are always really happy This is one of the best all inclusive hotels we have stayed in Close to a beautiful beach The only downside is that it is in a very remote area and it is 12 Euro to nearest main town if you want to get out

Awful service
Location food room and facilities all good but ruined by total lack of customer service, inconsistent policies and some very rude staff, also you need to speak German as some staff don't speak Spanish and they cater Very well to German guests but The exclusion of other Nationalities
