We had a lovely stay at the Taj during our time in capetown! The staff were so friendly and they went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the location was central to a lot of different sights. Would definitely recommend!

Micky, the Duty Manager, took excellent care of us and provided great customer service to compensate us for non-availability of a previously booked room on the check-in day. The room was not available because of a water leak on the 9th floor so all rooms on that floor were closed.

The Taj was AMAZING not because of the beautiful building and cleanliness, but because of the beautiful souls that work there. From the valet to the front desk the staff welcomed us and gave us great recommendations. Lulu and Zim, you made our trip to cape town unforgettable! It’s the smaller things in life that matter and the Taj has won my vote.

Overall a disappointment from a well regarded brand. Checkin was rushed and impersonal, also they don’t preauthorise credit card, but rather charge for incidentals in advance, at check in. Most unimpressively, there is no evening turndown service (which is shocking for a luxury brand!). Valet parking returned my car covered in bird poop (when I complained they did have this washed). Oddly there was a drought of towels, which were taken away and not replaced. Overall just disappointing for a brand with such prestige.
