In the hills above Carmel Valley Village, a wine lovers destination, Carmel Valley Top of the Hill is a 2.5 acre treasure surrounded by palm trees and 280 degree views. The adobe Top of the Hill has charm, character and history, has been restored to its original Spanish style and is filled with treasures from Mexico, Spain and South America. Carmel Valley Top of the Hill is five minutes to fine dining and wine tasting in Carmel Valley Village and 20 minutes to Carmel by the Sea destinations including beaches, shopping and restaurants and numerous golf courses in Pebble Beach. Garland Ranch and numerous other hiking trails are just minutes away. Enjoy the views from the hot tub which overlooks nearby hills, play bocce ball on the court, make smores over the large outdoor fire pit, while enjoying the views of the Santa Lucia hills from every direction. The top of the Hill has 4 guest rooms with one California King bed, three Queen beds. Two bedrooms have TVs. There are three bathrooms in the house, including the master en suite bathroom with large shower and separate tub. The large, custom master bathroom has french doors that open up to the courtyard and back yard. The Top of the Hill home has a fully-equipped kitchen located next to a dining room which is surrounded by windows overlooking the valley. The dining room can comfortably seat up to 12 people. The large family room has a TV, DVR, books and games with a game table that seats 8. There's a laundry room with washer and dryer. Multiple flagstone patios wrap around the Top of the Hill. Relax in the outdoor day bed or sit at one of the three outdoor tables. The Top of the Hill is located at the end of a quiet lane that climbs to the top of a hill, giving guests endless views of the hills. Plenty of parking is found inside the private, gated property.

Incredible Oasis in the Carmel Valley!
Words cannot describe how beautiful this property is and how well it is maintained. We had an incredible time there and enjoyed our time admiring the beautiful view of the valley. Time by the fire or in the hot tub allowed for our group to unwind and take in the serenity of the property. The house is beautiful inside and out and is fully equipped with all the amenities. We will be back next year for sure!

Stunning views!
We LOVED staying here! The views were amazing - from inside and outside! The pics did not do it justice! There was plenty of space for everyone - in and outside of the house. Beds were super comfortable! Hot tub was working great and the views at sunset couldnt be beat! Kids loved playing bocce ball - one suggestion I would have though is to have some sort of guard rail preventing the bocce balls from tumbling down the side of the hill. We lost 2 balls down the hillside (sorry). Chatted with the neighbor below (she was very friendly) and she didn't recommend searching for them because the hill was filled with poison oak. We did find extra balls to use in the outside closet, so we used those instead. Definitely a place we would return to! Thank you for opening your home to us, we appreciate it!

This property is such a relaxing, tranquil place tucked in the hills of Carmel Valley. We had the best time enjoying the property - fire pit, jacuzzi, and all of the fabulous outdoor furniture. It had everything we needed. We will certainly return!

More than expected
My mother-in-law was visiting from France; we were six adults. It was fantastic; the pictures do not represent how pretty the views and the house are. We did not figure out how to turn off the jacuzzi next to the principal bedroom. Aside from that, the house was complete with equipment, silverware, and a coffee machine, and the entire kitchen had everything we needed. We definitely will go back.

Relaxing family get away
The property is beautiful a great place to relax and enjoy your surroundings. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas to enjoy the views all around the property. Bocce and the hot tub were the favorites. In the evening we attempted the fire pit for stores. A few items to keep in mind so you are prepared. Re wash all your dishes before using them, there are several cooking utensils with old food on them in the drawers. You cannot unpack your clothes in the master bedroom, the dresser and Armour are not for guests and filled with items. The fireplace had some issues with going out. .a lot. But we pushed through it. These were all items previous reviews mentioned so we were prepared and it didn't damper our experience. The pictures of the house don't give you all the beauty and wow factor of this property inside and out. We loved our stay.

Girls weekend
This was such a great location for a girls weekend. We hadn't seen each other in so long due to the pandemic! The only issue we tried to communicate but wasn't able to get through to anyone was that the garbage disposal wasn't working, so we tried to be as mindful as possible when doing the dishes. Sorry! Otherwise, everyone was super accommodating. The views were amazing and it was such a beautiful spot. We didn't even need to go anywhere because we had so much fun! My girlfriends were looking to book again in the future for their own families and loved ones!

A View from Every Room
Amazing property both interior and exterior. Photos online don’t reveal half of what the grounds and home have to offer. . A treasure I’m hoping no one else discovers so we have more access to. Spanish themed furnishing were stunning. Indoor and outdoor entertaining and relaxing areas with 360 views kept us from venturing off too often. Golf, hiking and restaurants within minutes. Coming home from the few outing to enjoy cocktails and the views was the highlight. Maintained spotless care inside and out. We’ve already booked two separate stays before even leaving.

Great location and view
The house is beautiful and was the perfect spot for a treat my family for a small getaway. The home is spacious and impressive. Some of the dishes had some residue (either from previous renters or bad dishwasher), otherwise everything was great! The offer for extended check-out for an extra $50 was perfect because it gave us enough time to continue enjoying the home while we packed our things.

Not adequately provisioned or managed to be a vacation rental
The house itself is quite charming, high on a hill near town but very private, with views across the valley and many nice outdoor spaces to lounge or socialize. But the property is not adequately provisioned or managed to be used as a vacation rental. Really more like your cousin (who doesn't cook) saying "hey, not using the house for a couple of weeks, key's under the mat, enjoy." * The master bedroom had a single small dresser. It was completely filled with someone else's clothes. * The hot tub wasn't turned on. We had to find the manual online to figure out how to reprogram it from "rest mode" to "ready mode", then let it heat overnight. * The kitchen is poorly supplied. There are a few pans but not a single pot. Good thing we didn't try to boil pasta for 7 adults in a frying pan. One mixing bowl. * Another commenter mentioned that some features are in poor repair or need of updating. This is true, one out of two heat lamps broken, some of the outside lights don't work, others are on timers that turn on during the day. It's been a very long time since the cushions on the (copious) outdoor furniture have been cleaned. These are all issues that should be coordinated by the property manager, but they appear to be pretty uninvolved. We were told someone was meeting us on arrival, but no show. All their properties have a binder with area activities and restaurants (and perhaps house instructions), not this one. The only sign they've been on site is the branded soaps in the bathrooms. It appears they also manage several other properties in the Carmel and Pebble Beach areas, many of which are much more lavish. Perhaps those get more attention? I'm not chancing it.
