Casa Cantoniera (2p) on the estate Prati Piani

Prati Piani, a seven hectare estate, is situated at a height of 1100 metres near the top of the Monte Grande of the Alpes Maritimes. Originally the summer retreat of a producer of pasta, there are three buildings; a villa, an employees’ home consisting of two separate dwellings, and a farm (fattoria).
Casa Cantoniera, or the road workers dwelling, was built in 1935 and was the first of the three buildings. The house, originally built for road workers, subsequently housed the family staff and later the Albergo staff. Comprising two apartments, Casa Cantoniera has been recently renovated and equipped with under floor heating.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt! Das Personal war super nett und immer und jeder Zeit für unsere Fragen erreichbar. Da es sehr hoch gelegen ist, 1050m über NN, ist die Fahrt zur nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten doch schon etwa 20min entfernt, zum nächsten größeren Supermarkt sind es 35-40min, so lange dauert es auch zum Strand. Wer aber die Ruhe und ein einzigartiges Klima in seinem urlaub zu wissen mag, ist hier genau richtig. Radfahren und Wandern sind hier mit einzigartigem Panoramablick ausgeschmückt. LG Sabine & Willi

Redelijk huisje in prachtige omgeving
De omgeving is prachtig en er was een fijne, afgesloten tuin voor onze twee honden. Ligt wel vlak aan een weg waar best wat auto’s langsrijden. De dichtstbijzijnde winkel en koffiegelegenheid ligt op een half uurtje rijden, de kust op zo’n 45 minuten. Is een prachtige autorit door de bergen overigens! De houtkachel mag in de zomer, van juni tot september niet gebruikt worden en dat vonden wij wel een beetje een domper. We hadden het huisje mede daarom geselecteerd omdat de avonden in de bergen best fris kunnen zijn. WiFi deed het prima. De bedden waren slecht, doorgezakte matrassen in twee tegen elkaar geschoven ledikanten. Keukenuitrusting voor als je zelf wil koken is redelijk behalve de pannen, die mogen wel een keer vervangen worden, jammer! Wij vonden het huisje uiteindelijk te duur voor wat je ervoor krijgt.
